아리마대 요셉의 신앙을 본받읍시다.

Let's imitate the faith of Joseph of Arimathea

마27:57-61

57저물었을 때에 아리마대 부자 요셉이라 하는 사람이 왔으니 그도 예수의 제자라 58빌라도에게 가서 예수의 시체를 달라 하니 이에 빌라도가 내어주라 분부하거늘 59요셉이 시체를 가져다가 정한 세마포로 싸서 60바위 속에 판 자기 새무덤에 넣어 두고 큰 돌을 굴려 무덤 문에 놓고 가니 61거기 막달라 마리아와 다른 마리아가 무덤을 향하여 앉았더라

57 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. 58 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. 61Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb. (Matthew 27:59-61)

                                                 

예수님의 시체를 정성껏 장례한 사람으로서 아리마대 유대인공회원으로 지위도 높고 부유했습니다. 그는 하나님 나라를 대망하고 있었던 사람이다(막15:43) 유대인 공회원으로서 예수를 믿은 사람은 유대인의 관원이었던 니고데모와 같이 유일하게 예수를 영접하였던 사람이었습니다.

요셉은 예수님을 끝까지 따랐습니다.

예수님을 장사 지낸 사람입니다

예수님께 새것을 드렸습니다. 아리마대 요셉은 자기를 위하여 준비하였던 이 '새 것'을 주님께 드렸습니다

As a person who carefully buried the body of Jesus, he was a member of the Jewish Council of Arimathea and had a high status and wealth. He was waiting for the kingdom of God (Mark 15:43). As a Jewish council member who believed in Jesus, like Nicodemus, a Jewish ruler, he was the only one who accepted Jesus.

Joseph followed Jesus to the end.

He gave Jesus a new one. Joseph of Arimathea gave to the Lord this 'new thing' he had prepared for him.

 

1.    아리마대요셉은  훌륭한 신앙생활을 하였습니다.

         Joseph of Arimathea lived a good life of faith

1)   하나님앞과 사람앞에 선하고 의로운 생활 (눅23:50

He lived a good and righteous life before God and before man

50공회 의원으로 선하고 의로운 요셉이라 하는 사람이 있으니

50Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council,(Luke 23:50)

2)   하나님 나라를 기다리는 경건한 생활(눅23:51)

Lived a godly life waiting for the kingdom of God

51(저희의 결의와 행사에 가타 하지 아니한 자라) 그는 유대인의 동네 아리마대 사람이요 하나님의 나라를 기다리는 자러니

He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God. (Luke 23:51)

3)   공회원 중 존귀하고 양심적인 인물이었습니다.(막15:43

He was a respectable and conscientious person among the members of the counsil

43아리마대 사람 요셉이 와서 당돌히 빌라도에게 들어가 예수의 시체를 달라 하니 이 사람은 존귀한 공회원이요 하나님의 나라를 기다리는 자라

43Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. (Mark 15:43)

 

2.    담대한 신앙인이었습니다.

He was a strong believer.

1)   예수님을 정죄하는 공회결의에 찬동하지 않았습니다. (눅23:51

He did not agree with the council's resolution condemning Jesus.

저희의 결의와 행사에 가타 하지 아니한 자라

51who had not consented to their decision and action.

 

2)   빌라도총독에게 가서 예수님의 시체를 요구하였습니다.( 눅23:53

He went to the governor of Pilate and demanded the body of Jesus.

이를 내려 새마포로 싸고 아직 사람을 장사한 일이 없는 바위에 판 무덤에 넣어두니

53Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. (Luke23:53)

3)   교권 주의자들의 압력과 위협을 각오한 자였다(행4:19

He was prepared for pressure and threats from the clergy

19베드로와 요한이 대답하여 가로되 하나님 앞에서 너희 말 듣는 것이 하나님 말씀 듣는 것보다 옳은가 판단하라

19But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges (Acts 4:19)

 

3.    예수님께 충성을 다했습니다.

He was loyal to Jesus.

1)     예수님의 제자로서 은밀하게 따랐습니다.(요19:38)

He followed in secret as a disciple of Jesus

38아리마대 사람 요셉이 예수의 제자나 유대인을 두려워하여 은휘하더니 이 일 후에 빌라도더러 예수의 시체를 가져가기를 구하매 빌라도가 허락하는지라 이에 가서 예수의 시체를 가져가니라

38Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. (John 19:38)

2)     자신을 위해 마련해 둔 새 무덤에 예수를 장사하였습니다.(요19:41

He buried Jesus in the new tomb he had prepared for him

41예수의 십자가에 못 박히신 곳에 동산이 있고 동산 안에 아직 사람을 장사한 일이 없는 새 무덤이 있는지라

41At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. (John 19:41)

3)     큰 돌을 굴려 무덤을 막아 최선을 다해 시신을 존했습니다.(마27:60)

He rolled a large stone to block the tomb and did his best to preserve the body.

 60바위 속에 판 자기 새무덤에 넣어 두고 큰 돌을 굴려 무덤 문에 놓고 가니

60and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. (Matthew 27:60)

 

오늘날 우리는 이 시대의 아리마대 요셉이 되어서 경건하게 살며 불의와 타협하지 말아야 합니다.

Today, we must become the Joseph of Arimathea of this age and live a godly life and not compromise with injustice.
