외식하는 자들을 향한 예수님의 두번째 책망
Jesus' second rebuke to hypocrites
마태복음 23:23-36
23화 있을찐저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 너희가 박하와 회향과 근채의 십일조를 드리되 율법의 더 중한바 의와 인과 신은 버렸도다 그러나 이것도 행하고 저것도 버리지 말아야 할찌니라 24소경된 인도자여 하루살이는 걸러 내고 약대는 삼키는도다 25화 있을찐저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 잔과 대접의 겉은 깨끗이 하되 그 안에는 탐욕과 방탕으로 가득하게 하는도다 26소경된 바리새인아 너는 먼저 안을 깨끗이 하라 그리하면 겉도 깨끗하리라 27화 있을찐저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 회칠한 무덤 같으니 겉으로는 아름답게 보이나 그 안에는 죽은 사람의 뼈와 모든 더러운 것이 가득하도다 28이와 같이 너희도 겉으로는 사람에게 옳게 보이되 안으로는 외식과 불법이 가득하도다 29화 있을찐저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 너희는 선지자들의 무덤을 쌓고 의인들의 비석을 꾸미며 가로되 30만일 우리가 조상 때에 있었더면 우리는 저희가 선지자의 피를 흘리는데 참예하지 아니하였으리라 하니 31그러면 너희가 선지자를 죽인 자의 자손 됨을 스스로 증거함이로다 32너희가 너희 조상의 양을 채우라 33뱀들아 독사의 새끼들아 너희가 어떻게 지옥의 판결을 피하겠느냐 34그러므로 내가 너희에게 선지자들과 지혜 있는 자들과 서기관들을 보내매 너희가 그 중에서 더러는 죽이고 십자가에 못 박고 그 중에 더러는 너희 회당에서 채찍질하고 이 동네에서 저 동네로 구박하리라. 35그러므로 의인 아벨의 피로부터 성전과 제단 사이에서 너희가 죽인 바라갸의 아들 사가랴의 피까지 땅 위에서 흘린 의로운 피가 다 너희에게 돌아가리라 36내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이것이 다 이 세대에게 돌아가리라예수님께서 공생애 활동하시는 동안에 수차에 걸처 바리새인의 위선과 독선을 책망하셨습니다.
23“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel. 25“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. 27“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
29“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started! 33“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.
오늘 말씀가운데서 찰 진리를 알지못하고 범죄하는 것보다 알고 범죄하는 죄가 더 크고(벧후2:21) 남을 가르치고 자신이 범죄하는 하나님의 뜻에 불순종하는 죄가 된다고(롬2:23) 말씀하셨습니다.
예수님께 축복 받아야 할 지도자가 화있다고 선고 받는 일은 얼마나 부끄러운 일인가?
바리새인들의 행동을 보면서 우리 자신을 돌아볼 수 있는 기회가 되기를 바랍니다.
바리새인들의 행동은?
지난시간에 외식하는 바리새인들을 향해 세가지를 말씀하셨습니다
1. 천국문을 막는 외식자
2. 지옥자식이 되게 하는 외식자
3. 무엇이 중한지를 알지 못하는 외식자
4. 율법 정신을 모르는 외식자
1) 십일조는 드리면서 (신 14:21
21너희는 너희 하나님 여호와의 성민이라 무릇 스스로 죽은 것은 먹지 말 것이니 그것을 성중에 우거하는 객에게 주어 먹게 하거나 이방인에게 팔아도 가하니라 너는 염소 새끼를 그 어미의 젖에 삶지(cook) 말찌니라
21Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to the foreigner residing in any of your towns, and they may eat it, or you may sell it to any other foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk. (Deuteronomy 14:21)
2) 율법의 중한 의, 인, 신을 버렸다(마6:8)
8그러므로 저희를 본받지 말라 구하기 전에 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 하나님 너희 아버지께서 아시느니라
8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
(Matthew 6:8)
3) 하루살이는 걸러내고 약대는 삼키는 자(마15:3
3대답하여 가라사대 너희는 어찌하여 너희 유전으로 하나님의 계명을 범하느뇨
3Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? (Matthew 15:3)
5. 표면상으로는 깨끗한 외식자
4또 시장에서 돌아 와서는 물을 뿌리지 않으면 먹지 아니하며 그 외에도 여러가지를 지키어 오는 것이 있으니 잔과 주발과 놋그릇을 씻음이러라)
4When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.

2) 그속에는 탐욕과 방탕으로 가득하다 (눅16:14-15)
14바리새인들은 돈을 좋아하는 자라 이 모든 것을 듣고 비웃거늘 15예수께서 이르시되 너희는 사람 앞에서 스스로 옳다 하는 자이나 너희 마음을 하나님께서 아시나니 사람 중에 높임을 받는 그것은 하나님 앞에 미움을 받는 것이니라
14The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. 15He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight. (Luke 16:14,15)
3) 거짓으로 속이려는 소경이요 (마10:26)
26그런즉 저희를 두려워하지 말라 감추인 것이 드러나지 않을 것이 없고 숨은 것이 알려지지 않을 것이 없느니라
26“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. (Matthew 10:26)
6. 회칠한 무덤같은 외식하는 자
1) 겉으로는 아름답고 올바르게 보이나(마22:16)
16자기 제자들을 헤롯 당원들과 함께 예수께 보내어 말하되 선생님이여 우리가 아노니 당신은 참되시고 참으로써 하나님의 도를 가르치시며 아무라도 꺼리는 일이 없으시니 이는 사람을 외모로 보지 아니하심이니이다
16They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are (Matthew 22:16)
2) 안으로는 불법과 더러움으로 가득하다(마22:18)
18예수께서 저희의 악함을 아시고 가라사대 외식하는 자들아 어찌하여 나를 시험하느냐
18But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? (Matthew 22:18)
7. 선지자와 의인을 박해하는 자
1) 선지자를 죽인 조상의 죄악을 계승하는자 (마23:30-33
30만일 우리가 조상 때에 있었더면 우리는 저희가 선지자의 피를 흘리는데 참예하지 아니하였으리라 하니 31그러면 너희가 선지자를 죽인 자의 자손 됨을 스스로 증거함이로다 32너희가 너희 조상의 양을 채우라 33뱀들아 독사의 새끼들아 너희가 어떻게 지옥의 판결을 피하겠느냐
30And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started! 33“You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?(Matthew 23:30-33)
2) 그리스도를 학대하는자 (마23:34
34그러므로 내가 너희에게 선지자들과 지혜 있는 자들과 서기관들을 보내매 너희가 그 중에서 더러는 죽이고 십자가에 못 박고 그 중에 더러는 너희 회당에서 채찍질하고 이 동네에서 저 동네로 구박하리라
34Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. (Matthew 23:34)
3) 이들의 결국은 (마27:25
25백성이 다 대답하여 가로되 그 피를 우리와 우리 자손에게 돌릴찌어다 하거늘
25All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”(Matthew 27:34)
왜 바리새인들은 하나님을 잘믿노라 하는데 이런 외식주의에 빠지는가?
종교는 하나님과 사람과 직접적인 관계인데 이 관계를 떠나서 신앙을 형식화 하고 제도화하고 교리화 할 때 그 믿음은 하나님의 뜻을 거스리게 되어 예수님의 책망을 받게 됩니다.
교권주의에 빠지게 되면 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 그대로 생활하려는 것보다 자기들의 종교성을 옹호하려는데 열심을 쏟게 되어 참신앙을 전하는 자를 미워하게 되는 것입니다.
