로마인들은 다신교를 믿고, 황제 숭배를 강요하였고, 우대인들까지도 그리스도를 믿는 스리스도인들을 박해하였지만, 본문에서는 낙심하거나 희망을 잃지 말고 너희를 박해 하는 자를 축복하라고 권면합니다.
1. 박해하는 사람을 축복하라
Bless those who persecute you
14절 여러분을 박해하는 사람들을 축복하십시오. 축복을 하고, 저주를 하지 마십시오.
14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
그 당시 “네 이웃을 사랑하고 네 원수를 미워하여라” (마5:43) Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’유대전통이 있었습니다.
그러나 예수님은 “나는 너희에게 말하다 너희 원수를 사랑하고 너희를 박해하는 사람을 위하여 기도하여라”(마5:44) I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you말씀하셨습니다.
1) 서로 한마음이 되고.
Empathize with one another
15기뻐하는 사람들과 함께 기뻐하고, 우는 사람들과 함께 우십시오.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn
겸손은 여러 사람과 조화를 이루게 합니다.
잠18:12 사람의 마음이 오만하면 멸망이 뒤따르지만, 겸손하면 영광이 뒤따른다.
12 Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.
마23:12 자기를 높이는 사람은 낮아지고, 자기를 낮추는 사람은 높아질 것이다.”
12For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble ` themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12)
2) 겸손해야 하는 3가지 이유
Three reasons to be humble
첫째, 하나님깨서 만드신 피조물이기 때문
둘째, 깨닫지 못해서 그렇지 큰죄, 작은 죄를 많이 짓는 죄인이기 때문
셋째, 성도이기 때문
2. 악을 악으로 갚지 말라
Do not repay anyone evil for evil
17절 “아무에게도 악을 악으로 갚지말고, 모든 사람이 선하다고 생각하는 일을 하려고 얘쓰십시요” 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone (Romans 12:17)
구약시대의 통해 보복법은 “눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로 되갚는 처벌이 어었으나 예수께서는 더 적극적인 보호법을 가릋 주셨습니다.
마5:38-42 ‘눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로 갚아라’ 하고 말한 것을 너희는 들었다. 39그러나 나는 너희에게 말한다. 악한 사람에게 맞서지 말아라. 누가 네 오른쪽 뺨을 치거든, 왼쪽 뺨마저 돌려 대어라. 40너를 걸어 고소하여 네 속옷을 가지려는 사람에게는, 겉옷까지도 내주어라. 41누가 너더러 억지로 오 리를 가자고 하거든, 십 리를 같이 가 주어라. 42네게 달라는 사람에게는 주고, 네게 꾸려고 하는 사람을 물리치지 말아라.”

If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. 살전 5:15 15아무도 악으로 악을 갚지 말고, 도리어 서로에게, 모든 사람에게, 항상 좋은 일을 하려고 애쓰십시오.

1) 원수를 위해 기도해야 합니다.
Pray for your enemies

2) 원수를 사랑하고 기도해야 하는 이유
The reason we must love and pray for our enemies
마5:45-46 그래야만 너희가 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 자녀가 될 것이다. 아버지께서는, 악한 사람에게나 선한 사람에게나 똑같이 해를 떠오르게 하시고, 의로운 사람에게나 불의한 사람에게나 똑같이 비를 내려주신다. 46너희를 사랑하는 사람만 너희가 사랑하면, 무슨 상을 받겠느냐? 세리도 그만큼은 하지 않느냐?
45that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? (Matthew 5:45-46)
3. 모든 사람으로 화평하라
Live at peace with everyone
롬12:18절 “여러분쪽에서 할 수 있는 대로 모든 사람과 더불어 화평하게 지내십시오”
. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
예수 그리스도는 죄로 단절되었던 하나님과 인간 관계를 회복하시기 위해 화목 제물이 되신 것입니다.(롬3:25
25God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—(Romans 3:25)
우리에게 화목의직분을 맡기셨습니다

1) 화평케 하는 사람은.
For those that seek peace
마음에 평안을 얻고 (시37:37 Consider the blameless, observe the upright;
a future awaits those who seek peace
희락을 얻으며(잠12:20 Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy.
하나님의 아들이라 불리우게 되고(마5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
의의 열매를 거두게 됩니다.(약3:18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a
harvest of righteousness.
4. 악에게 지지말고 선으로 악을 이기라
Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good
롬12:20-21절” 네 원수가 주리거든 먹을 것을 주고, 그가 목말라 하거든 마실 것을 주어라, 그렇게 하는 것은 네가 그의 머리위에 숯불을 쌓는 샘이 될 것이다. 하였습니다.
악에게 지지말고 선으로 악을 이기십시오”
20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” 2 1Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:14-21)
