영생과 영벌에 대하여 아는가?
Eternal life and Eternal punishment
Matthew 마태복음25:31-46
31 인자가 자기 영광으로 모든 천사와 함께 올때에 자기 영광의 보좌에 앉으리니
32 모든 민족을 그 앞에 모으고 각각 분별하기를 목자가 양과 염소를 분별하는것 같이 하여
33 양은 그 오른편에 염소는 왼편에 두리라.
34 그 때에 임금이 그 오른편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 내 아버지께 복 받을 자들이여 나아와 창세로부터 너희를 위하여 예비된 나라를 상속하라
35 내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주었고 목마를 때에 마시게 하였고 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하였고36 벗었을 때에 옷을 입혔고 병들었을 때에 돌아보았고 옥에 갇혔을 때에 와서 보았느니라37 이에 의인들이 대답하여 가로되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주의 주리신 것을 보고 공궤하였으며 목마르신 것을 보고 마시게 하였나이까38 어느 때에 나그네 되신 것을 보고 영접하였으며 벗으신 것을 보고 옷 입혔나이까39 어느 때에 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 가서 뵈었나이까 하리니
40 임금이 대답하여 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 너희가 여기 내 형제 중에 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 한 것이 곧 내게 한 것이니라 하시고
41 또 왼편에 있는 자들에게 이르시되 저주를 받은 자들아 나를 떠나 마귀와 그 사자들을 위하여 예비된 영영한 불에 들어가라
42 내가 주릴 때에 너희가 먹을 것을 주지 아니하였고 목마를 때에 마시게 하지 아니하였고43 나그네 되었을 때에 영접하지 아니하였고 벗었을 때에 옷 입히지 아니하였고 병들었을 때와 옥에 갇혔을 때에 돌아보지 아니하였느니라 하시니
44 저희도 대답하여 가로되 주여 우리가 어느 때에 주의 주리신 것이나 목마르신 것이나 나그네 되신 것이나 벗으신 것이나 병드신 것이나 옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 공양치 아니하더이까
45 이에 임금이 대답하여 가라사대 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이 지극히 작은 자 하나에게 하지 아니한 것이 곧 내게 하지 아니한 것이니라 하시리니46 저희는 영벌에 의인들은 영생에 들어가리라 하시니라
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

A. 영생 과 영벌이란 무엇인가?
What is eternal life and what is eternal punishment?
1. 영생이란?
Eternal life?
영생이란 인간의 생명이 영원함을 의미하는것이며, 예수께서 기도하실 때 말씀하시기를
“영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그의 보내신 자 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이라” 하셨다. (요17:3)
3Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3)
성경에서 영생에 대하여 말할 때는 오직 “그리스도 예수 우리 주안에서 (로마서6:23) 나오는 하나님의 선물이라고 말한다. 죄에서 해방되고 하나님의 자녀가 되어 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 얻었을때 바로 이 열매는 영생이니라 23 죄의 삯은 사망이요 하나님의 은사는 그리스도 예수 우리 주안에 있는 영생이니라” 바울은 말하였다.
“now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:22,23)
예수 그리스도는 인생들에게 영원한 생명을 주시기 위해 이 땅에 오셨으며 (요10:10)
예수께서는 오늘날 영생의 길을 우리에게 가르쳐 주셨지만 이미 태초에 하나님께서 자신들의 형상대로 창조하신 아담과 하와에게 이 영생의 은혜를 주셨다.
“하나님이 태초에 천지를 창조하시고 하나님의 형상을 따라 사람을 만들되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고 그들로 바다의 고기와 공중의 새와 육축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하시고 그들에게 복을 주시며 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라 땅을 정복하라 바다의 고기와 공중의 새와 땅에 있는 모든 것을 다스리게 하시니라” 하셨다. (창1:27,28)
영생의 은사는 “부활이요 생명”이신 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자들에게 오는 것이며 (요한복음 11:25). 이 생명이 "영원하다"는 것은 그것이 영원한 생명임을 나타낸다. 이 생명은 끝이 없이 계속 이어지는 생명며 시간과 공간을 초월하여 주어진다.
2. 영벌이란?
Eternal punishment?
심판의 부활을 받은 자들이 받는 형벌이다. 죽을래야 죽을 수도 없이 고통을 받는 불과 유황이 타는 못에 참여하는 자의 형벌이다.(계21:8)
“두려워하는 자들과 믿지 아니하는 자들과 훙악한 자들과 살인자들과 행음자들과 술객들과 우상숭배자들과 모든 거짓말하는 자들이 불과 유황으로 타는 못에 참예하리리 이는 둘째 사망이다.
The cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murders, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur, This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
영벌에 들어가는 자들은 땅의 일을 행하므로 사형에 해당한다고 하며 이들은 하나님의 정하심을 알고도 자기들만 행할 뿐 아니라 또한 그 일을 행하는 자들을 옳다 하는자들이 받을 형벌이다.(롬1:24-32) 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:32)
육체의 일을 행하므로 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받을 수 없는 자들이 받을 형벌이다.
(갈라디아서 5:19-21)
19The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, Discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
위엣것을 생각하지않고 땅의 것만 생각하므로 하나님의 진노가 임하는 자들에게 받는 형벌이다. (골로새서 3:5,6) 5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. (Colossians 3:5,6)
B. 왜 하나님은 인간에게 영생과 영벌의 길을 보여주셨을까?
Why did God show the path to eternal life and eternal punishment to man?
1. 하나님이 인간들을 사랑하셨기 때문(요3:16)
Because God loves us
“16하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라 17하나님이 그 아들을 세상에 보내신 것은 세상을 심판하려 하심이 아니요 저로 말미암아 세상이 구원을 받게하려 하심이라 18저를 믿는 자는 심판을 받지 아니하는 것이요 믿지 아니하는 자는 하나님의 독생자의 이름을 믿지 아니하므로 벌써 심판을 받은 것이니라 (요3:16-17)
16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16,17)
2. 영생을 위한 삶을 살라고
So that we will live a life that leads to eternal life
1) 아담에게도 보여주셨다 (창2:16,17)
He showed this path to Adam
15여호와 하나님이 그 사람을 이끌어 에덴 동산에 두사 그것을 다스리며 지키게 하시고 16여호와 하나님이 그 사람에게 명하여 가라사대 동산 각종 나무의 실과는 네가 임의로 먹되
17선악을 알게하는 나무의 실과는 먹지 말라 네가 먹는 날에는 정녕 죽으리라 하시니라
16And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16,17)
2) 하나님이 이스라엘 백성에게도 보여주셨다. (신7:7,8)
He showed this path to the Israelites
8여호와께서 다만 너희를 사랑하심을 인하여, 또는 너희 열조에게 하신 맹세를 지키려 하심을 인하여 자기의 권능의 손으로 너희를 인도하여 내시되 너희를 그 종 되었던 집에서 애굽 왕 바로의 손에서 속량하셨나니
The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the hand of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
(Deuteronomy 7:7,8)
3) 우물가에 있는 사마리아 여인에게도 보여주셨다 (요4:13,14)
Jesus showed this path to a Samaritan Woman
예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 이 물을 먹는 자마다 다시 목마르려니와 14내가 주는 물을 먹는 자는
영원히 목마르지 아니하리니 나의 주는 물은 그 속에서 영생하도록 솟아나는 샘물이 되리라
13No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. 14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
(John4:13,14)
3. 인간에게 자유의지를 베푸신 이유를 알려주시기 위해
So that we will know why God gave us free will
하나님께서 사람에게 자유의지를 주심은 사람을 만드시고자 하셨을 때의 창조목적에 적합하도록 하시기 위함이었다. 하나님께서는 어떤 부족함이 있어서 반드시 사람을 창조해야만 했던 것이 아니다. 다만 자신의 기쁘신 뜻에 따라서 사람을 창조하셨고, 그 기쁘신 뜻이란 사람들로부터 영광을 받으시려는 것이었다.(사 43:7) 그래서 하나님께서는 사람이 하나님께 영광을 돌리기에 가장 적당하도록 하기 위해서 자유의지를 가지게 하셨다.
하나님께서는 사람에게 죄를 범하지 말라고 엄히 명령하신다. 그리고 사람이 죄를 범할 때는 그냥 지나치지 않으시고 반드시 그 책임을 물으신다.
하나님은 자신의 형상대로 남자와 여자를 창조하셨을 때 모든 것을 다 준비해 놓으시고 창조하신 사람에게이 모든 것을 맡겨주셨다. 그리고 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는지 불순종하는지 보셨다. 순종하셨을때는 영생을 허락하셨지만 불순종하였을 때는 정녕죽었어야 하는데 긍휼을 베풀어 짐승을 잡아 그 가죽으로 옷을 입히시고 에덴 동산에서 추방하셨다. 아담과 하와는 순종하여 에덴동산에 하나님과 함께 살 수 있었으나 불순종으로 인하여 영생의 길에서 쫓겨났음을 볼 수 있다. 이는 영원한 멸망의 심판이된다.
C. 어떻게 하면 영생할 수 있을까?
How can we gain eternal life?
1. 예수그리스도를 알고, 그의 말씀을 믿고, 순종하라
Get to know Jesus Christ, believe in his words and obey
예수그리스도가 살아계신 하나님의 아들이심을 믿고 왜 지금까지 이 놀라운 사실을 몰랐을까? 회개하며 셰례받을 때 하나님을 아버지라 부르게 되고 우리는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세까지 얻게 되어 영생의 길에 들어간 것이다. (요3:36, 5:24, 17:3)
예수를 따라다녔던 많은 사람들이 예수께서 몇날이 못되어 죽게 될 것이다는 말씀을 듣는순간 다들 예수를 떠났다. 예수께서는 제자들에게도 묻기를 너희들도 떠나고 싶으냐 ? 그때 베드로는 “주여 영생의 말씀이 계시매 우리가 누구에게 가겠습니까? 그려면서 우리가 주는 하나님의 거룩하신 자신 줄 믿고 있었삽나이다”대답하였다. (요6:67-68) 베드로는 예수를 믿었다. 예수님에 대한 확실한 믿음이 있었던 베드로는 예수님이 하신 말씀도 믿었다.
2. 예수 그리스도를 나의 주님으로 영접하라(요3:16)
Welcome Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
하나님이 인생들에게 영생을 주시려고, 인생들과 동일한 모습으로 독생자를 이땅에 보내주셨다(빌2:5-7)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. (Philippians 2:5-7)
하나님이 세상을 사랑하셔서 독생자를 보내셨는데 유대인이나 헬라인이나 야만이나 누구든지 하나님이 보내신 예수를 자신의 주님으로 영접하였을 때는 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 된다. 하셨다
“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하심이니라”(요3:16)

3. 예수그리스도를 본받는 생활을 하라 ( 골3:5-17)
Live a life following the example set by Jesus Christ
바울은 “내가 그리스도를 본받는 자 된것 같이 너희는 나를 본받으라” 한다
1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.(1 Corinthians 11:1)
그리스도인이 그리스도를 본받는다는 것은 그리스도를 닮아가는 것이다.
우리는 하나님의 자녀가 되어 새 사람을 입었으니 (3:10)땅에 있는 지체를 죽이고(3:5) 자기를 창조하신자의 형상을 좇아 지식에까지 새롭게 하심을 받았으니 긍휼과 자비와 겸손과 온유 와 오래참음으로 옷을 입고, 뉘게 혐으가 있거든 서로 용납하여 용서하되 주께서 우리를 용서하신것처럼 하며 이 모든것 위에 사랑을 갖고 행하자. 이러한 일을 할 때 그리스도의 평강이 우리 마음을 주장하게 하여 감사하며 무슨 일을 하든지 말에나 일에나 다 주 예수의 이름으로 하고 그리스도를 힘입어 성령충만하여 하나님 아버지께 감사하는 것이다.(3:17)

4. 그리스도를 믿는 것과 아는일에 노력하라(엡4:13)
Put all your effort to believe and know Christ Jesus
13우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한데까지 이르라.
13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. ( Ephesians 4:13)
바울은 그리스도의 삶의 목적이 의의 면류관을 얻는 것이라 하였다.(딤후 4:7,8)
7내가 선한 싸움을 싸우고 나의 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니 8이제 후로는 나를 위하여 의의 면류관이 예비되었으므로 주 곧 의로우신 재판장이 그 날에 내게 주실 것이니 내게만 아니라 주의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 자에게니라
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7,8)
사도요한은 그리스도인의 사는 생화속에는 어려움도 있음을 말하면서 서머나 교회에게 하신 말씀처럼 “죽도록 충성하면 생명의 면류관이 준비 되어 있다 “하였다.
10Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. (Revelation 2:10)
우리에게 주시는 교훈
