Blessed are those who mourn
“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Meaning of mourning
•deep sorrow for sin separating man from God, for without a thorough
repentance and sorrow, you cannot enter the Kingdom of God
•through mourning, our character matures
•through mourning, we learn humility

•to be there for those who are in need is to do God's will
There are times in our lives when we mourn in our poverty and solitude

Jesus' mourning
•Jesus mourned and cried at the news of the death of Lazarus (John 11:35)
•Jesus cried for the sins of the world and for Jerusalem (Luke 19:41)
How are we comforted in our morning and solitude?
•Jesus comforted us giving us the ability to win all challenges
•Gives us peace of faith
Application
•mourning is not filled with pessimism but is partner healing
•empathetic mourning is of loving and serving others
•tears shed for others is being strong
•always remember then mourning of Jesus for us which led to His sacrifice
