But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things
there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified
the flesh with its passions and desires. ( Galatians 5 : 22-24 ESV)

In today's reality, it's especially difficult to understand and easy to
forget the true wisdom on how gentleness wins the world, as there
are many means to express oneself and to be outspoken… Being
meek can often be mistaken for weakness. Today we will be
reminded of the strength and importance of gentleness according
to God.

training of gentleness is necessary according to God

     *  being gentle as a state
     *  acting in gentleness   

    gentleness according to God's will
    Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all people who
    were on the face of the earth. ( Numbers 12 : 3 ESV)
to act on our own will is ultimately without a leader granted by
God
In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was
right in his own eyes. ( Judges 17 : 6 ESV) & ( Judges 21 : 25 ESV)

God is the trainer of our lives and commanded us to be meek

     * Love is gentle Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or
       boast; it is not arrogant ( 1 Corinthians 13 : 4 ESV)
      Jesus was gentle and we want to be like Jesus
      Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and
       lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ( Matthew
      11 : 29 ESV)

      When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he
      suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself
      to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on
      the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By
      his wounds you have been healed. ( 1 Peter 2 : 23-24 ESV)
      
what is the reward of gentleness?
      we gain the ability of spiritual renewal and recovery
      we will inherit the world

      “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. ( Matthew
       5 : 5 ESV)

       But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in
       abundant peace. ( Psalm 37 : 11 ESV)

       So do not be confused or fooled by what is loud and outspoken
       but remember the true and only means to inherit the earth
       according to God is to be gentle and seek Him - by power of
       Holy Spirit, we can experience the power of gentleness over all
       evil
