As we end 2016, remember these things

신명기 29:1-9
Deuteronomy 29:1-9 (NIV)
Renewal of the Covenant
29 [a]These are the terms of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in Moab, in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Horeb.
2 Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them:
Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land. 3 With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those signs and great wonders. 4 But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.5 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. 6 You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”
7 When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them. 8 We took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
9 Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.

As we end 2016, remember these things

These scriptures describe the covenant made between God and the Israelites at Moab. There is no change from the promise made between God and the Israelites at Horeb.  However, they are told about the fact that those that made that covenant died in the wilderness in the 40 years exodus from Egypt and now the new generation is making this covenant with God at Moab. The content of this covenant is the same as He gave to their ancestors, that if they are obedient to God and serve him only, they will prosper and receive a land flowing with milk and honey as God watches over their safety.
However, if they do not obey God, they will surely receive God’s punishment.
Through these words, what must we remember in our hearts?

1.        You must remember that the Lord is your God.
You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know
(Deut.29:6)
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”(Psalm 23:6)

1)        Peter’s confession(Matt. 16:16)
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."(John요6:68,69)

2)        Nathaniel’s confession(John 1:49)
Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."

3)        The confession of the Samarian woman((John 4:29)
”"Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?"

4)        The confession of Martha(John 11:27)
"Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

5)        Thomas’ confession(John 20:28)
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"(John20:28)

2.        Let’s seek the secret to Prosperity
1)        I live by keeping the covenant.
2)        To obey continue to commandments.

3.        Let’s seek the transformation of our relationship by His grace.
1)        What is God’s grace.
a)        The Israelites did not realize the grace of God.
Israel was grumbling with the love of God.
b)        Why did they not realize God’s grace?
It was filled with hypocrisy and pride.
They did not ask God.
2)        What is the result of not realizing God’s grace?

Application
1.        God is control of our lives and leads us
We must have faith in the fact that God is in complete control of our lives and he leads us.
2.        we will be able to live a fulfilling life
By obeying God’s words, we will be able to live a fulfilling life.
