James야고보서 2:1-12

1내 형제들아 영광의 주 곧 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 믿는 믿음을 너희가 받았으니 사람을 외모로 취하지 말라 2만일 너희 회당에 금가락지를 끼고 아름다운 옷을 입은 사람이 들어 오고 또 더러운 옷을 입은 가난한 사람이 들어올 때에 3너희가 아름다운 옷을 입은 자를 돌아보아 가로되 여기 좋은 자리에 앉으소서 하고 또 가난한 자에게 이르되 너는 거기 섰든지 내 발등상 아래 앉으라 하면 4너희끼리 서로 구별하며 악한 생각으로 판단하는 자가 되는 것이 아니냐 5내 사랑하는 형제들아 들을찌어다 하나님이 세상에 대하여는 가난한 자를 택하사 믿음에 부요하게 하시고 또 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 나라를 유업으로 받게 아니하셨느냐 6너희는 도리어 가난한 자를 괄시하였도다 부자는 너희를 압제하며 법정으로 끌고 가지 아니하느냐 7저희는 너희에게 대하여 일컫는바 그 아름다운 이름을 훼방하지 아니하느냐 8너희가 만일 경에 기록한 대로 네 이웃 사랑하기를 네 몸과 같이 하라 하신 최고한 법을 지키면 잘하는 것이거니와 9만일 너희가 외모로 사람을 취하면 죄를 짓는 것이니 율법이 너희를 범죄자로 정하리라 10누구든지 온 율법을 지키다가 그 하나에 거치면 모두 범한 자가 되나니 11간음하지 말라 하신 이가 또한 살인하지 말라 하셨은즉 네가 비록 간음하지 아니하여도 살인하면 율법을 범한 자가 되느니라 12너희는 자유의 율법대로 심판 받을 자처럼 말도 하고 행하기도 하라

1 My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?

8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. 12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment. (James 2:1-12)

야고보사도는 가난한 자를 천시하는 풍조에 대해 책망한 이야기를 본문에서 이야기 하고 있다 하나님께서는 오히려 가난한 자를 택하시고 사랑하셨다. 사람들은 외모를 보고 판단하기 쉽지만 하나님은 사람의 중심을 보시며 자기를 사랑하는 자에게 은혜를 베푸신다 하셨다.

 

A. 사랑은 하나님이시다.

God is Love

1.  하나님은 우리를 사랑하셔서 우리를 구원하신다.

God loved us so much that He wants to save us

“하나님은 세상에 대하여는 가난한 자를 택하사 믿음에 부요하게 하시고(5절)

이 교훈은 세상편에서 볼 때 물질이 없어 가난한 사람을 하나님이 택하셔서 신앙을 부요하게 만드신다는 말이다. 야고보의 사상은 신약, 구약성경이 모두 강조하지만(신4:7; 행 13:17) 특별한 예수님이 말씀하신 교훈 가운데서 볼 수 있다.

예수께서는 나사렛 회당에서 하신 최초의 설교말씀 가운데서 ’ 가난한 자에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으시고 주의 은혜의 해를 전파하게(눅4:18,19) 하셨다고 했다. 요한이 감옥에서 그리스도의 하신 일을 듣고 제자들을 보내어 예수께 여짜오되 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이들을 기다리오리이까?(마10:3) 물었을 때 “소경이 보며, 앉은뱅이가 걸으며, 문둥이가 깨끗함을 받으며, 귀먹어리가 들으며, 죽은 자가 살아나며, 가난한 자에게 복음이 전파된다”(마10:5) 라는 말씀으로 대답하셨다. 뿐만아니라 산상수훈 5:3절에서도 “심령이 가난한 자는 복이있나니 천국이 저희 것이다. 하였고 누가도 ‘가난한 자는 복이 있나니 하나님의 나라가 너희것(눅6:20) 이라 기록하였다.

 

2.  하나님은 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 기업을 주신다.(약2:5)

God has promised the inheritance of His kingdom to those that love Him

 복음은 그것을 받아들이는 모두에게 동일하게 적용된다. 복음은 빈부의 격차에 따라 사람을 차별하지 않으며( 롬 1:16). 복음의 혜택 또한 모든 이들에게 골고루 돌아간다. 그렇기 때문에 야고보는 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자에게 약속하신 나라를 유업으로 받게 하셨다고 말하고 있다. 부한 자나 가난한 자나 예수 그리스도를 구주로 믿고 시인하면 하나님의 백성이 되고 그의 나라를 유업으로 받게 되며 그러나 하나님을 사랑하지 않는 자는 어느 누구도 하나님이 약속하신 기업을 얻지 못하는 것이다.

“5내 사랑하는 형제들아 들을찌어다 하나님이 세상에 대하여는 가난한 자를 택하사 믿음에 부요하게 하시고 또 자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 나라를 유업으로 받게 아니하셨느냐 (약2:5)

5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? (James 2:5)

 

B. 왜 사랑이 새롭고 고귀한 법일까?

Why is Love the most current and noble law?

1.  하나님의 사랑위해 우리를 창조하셨기 때문이다.(요일 4:7,8)

Because we have been created upon God’s love

“사랑하는 자들아 우리가 서로 사랑하자 사랑은 하나님께 속한 것이나 사랑하는 자마다 하나님께로 나서 하나님을 알고 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니 이는 하나님은 사랑이심이니라(요일4:7,8)

7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1John 4:7,8)

하나님의 사랑이 우리에게 나타나심은 죄인된 우리를 살리기 위해서 독생자 예수 그리스도까지 보내신 것이다.(요일 4:9)

“하나님의 사랑이 우리에게 이렇게 나타난 바 되었으니 하나님이 자기의 독생자를 세상에 보내심은 저로 말미암아 우리를 살리려 하심이니라(요일4:9)

“9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (1John 4:9)

1)   하나님의 형상대로 창조하셨으므로 사랑하신다.

·         그래서 하나님은 인간에게 감사할 능력을 주셨다(살전 5:16-17),

항상기뻐하라 쉬지말고 기도하라 범사에 감사하라 이는 그리스도예수안에서 너희에게 주신 하나님의 뜻이니라 16Rejoice always, 17pray continually, 18give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

·         선택할 능력도 주셨다.(롬12:2):

너희는 이세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

(Romans 12:2)

·         사랑할 수 있는 능력도 주셨다.(막12:30)

“네 마음을 다하고 목슴을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다 하여 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하라 하신 것이요” 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.(Mark 12:30)

 

2)   우리가 하나님이 필요하므로 사랑하신다

·         죄로부터 구속을 받아야 하기 때문에(요3:16; 막10:45

16하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라  16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16)

45인자의 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

·         우리가 하나님과 함께 삶을 살기 위해서 도움이 필요하다 ( 벧후3:18)  18오직 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 저를 아는 지식에서 자라 가라 영광이 이제와 영원한 날까지 저에게 있을찌어다18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. (2Peter 3:18)  

    

2.  예수 그리스도를 통해 우리에게 새 삶을 주셨기 때문이다.

Because through Jesus Christ, we have received a new life

우리가  주님을 영접하기 전까지는 육체의 욕심을 따라서 지내며 육체와 마음이 원하는 것을 하여 본질상 진노의 자녀였는데 긍휼에 충성하신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑을 인하여 허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 하나님의 은혜로 구원을 얻어 새 삶을 살 수 있게 해 주셨다.

3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:3-5)

 

그리스도 예수안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 우리를 해방해 주셔서(롬8:2) 그리스도안에서 서로 연결하여 주안에서 성전이 되어가고 성령안에서 하나님의 거하실 처소가 되기 위하여 예수 안에서 함께 새삶을 살게 되는 것이다.(엡2:21,22)

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.(Romans 8:1,2)

21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2:21,22)

 

3.   하나님의 은혜로 사랑을 받았기 때문이다. (렘17:9)

We have received His love by God’s grace

우리의 내적 존재는 죄로 인해 너무나도 타락해 있어서 스스로가 얼마나 죄로 물들어 있는지 깨닫지 못한다. 그런데 성령을 통해서 하나님의 사람을 받을 만한 자격이 없는데도 모든 것을 사하시고 자려로서 감사하며 기뻐하며 살 수 있게 해 주셨다.

 

예레미야 17:9은 인간의 내적 상태를 다음과 같이 설명한다.

“만물보다 거짓되고 심히 부패한 것은 마음이라 누가 능히 이를 알리요

9The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (Jeremaiah 17:9)

 

로마서 3:10-12에는 중생하지못한 인간의 본성을 다음과 같이 표현하고 있다.

“… 의인은 없나니 하나도 없으며 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없고 다 치우쳐 함께 무익하게 되고 선을 행하는 자는 없나니 하나도 없도다”

“10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who

understands; there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together

become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” (Romans 3:1-12)

 

C. 어떻게 사랑을 고귀한 법으로 섬길 수 있을까?

How can we follow the law of love that is most current and noble?

 

1.  하나님을 사랑하고 내 이웃을 내몸처럼 사랑하라.(마22:37)

Love your God and love your neighbor as yourself

37예수께서 가라사대 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니

37Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

 하나님을 사랑하는 자들이 하나님의 사랑을 입으며 하나님을 간절히 찾는 자가 하나님을 만날 것이라 하였다(잠8:17)

17I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. (Proverbs 8:10)

 

2.  하나님의 말씀을 아멘으로 받고 순종하라

Receive God’s word with Amen and obedience

 

1)   노아 의 순종6:13-21)

Noah’s obedience

하나님은 노아에게 방주를 만들라 하셨다. “22노아가 그와 같이 하되 하나님이 자기에게 명하신대로 다 준행하였더라 “그대로 순좋하였을 때 그 가정 8명만이 구원함을 받을 수 있었다.

13하나님이 노아에게 이르시되 모든 혈육 있는 자의 강포가 땅에 가득하므로 그 끝날이 내 앞에 이르렀으니 내가 그들을 땅과 함께 멸하리라

14너는 잣나무로 너를 위하여 방주를 짓되 그 안에 간들을 막고 역청으로 그 안팎에 칠하라

15그 방주의 제도는 이러하니 장이 삼백 규빗, 광이 오십 규빗, 고가 삼십 규빗이며 16거기 창을 내되 위에서부터 한 규빗에 내고 그 문은 옆으로 내고 상 중 하 삼층으로 할찌니라 . . .

22노아가 그와 같이 하되 하나님이 자기에게 명하신대로 다 준행하였더라(창6:13-21)

13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high. 16 Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. . . . . . 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. 20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. 21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.” (Genesis 6:13-21)

 

3.  하나님의 사랑을 받은 자로 감사하며 살아라(골3:12)

Live a life of gratitude as a person that has received God’s love

바울이 골로새 교회에게 하신 강조한 말씀처럼 성도는 하나님께서 택하신 자요, 하나님께서 거룩하게 하신 자요, 하나님께서 사랑하는 자 라고 강조하였다.

이처럼 하나님의 사랑을 받는 자가 되었다면 사랑받는 자답게 살아야 하나님이 기뻐하는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 것이다.

하나님의 사랑을 받은 성도는 그렇지 않은 사람과 다른 모습을 보여야 하며 보다 넓은

 마음을 가져야 한다고 골로새서 3장 12절에서 말하고 있다.

“그러므로 너희는 하나님의택하신 거룩하고 사랑하신 자처럼 긍휼과 자비와 겸손과 온유와오래 참음으로 옷 입어라”(골3:12) 권면한다.

12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12)

우리에게 주시는 교훈Today’s Lesson

 

1.   하나님은 사랑이시다.(1 John요일 4:8)

하나님은 이 사랑을 독생자 예수 그리스도를 통해서 우리에게 보내 주셨다.

God is love. He showed us His love for us by sending His one and only Son for us.

 

2.   이 사랑을 받은 우리도 사랑하자(Matthew마22:37-40)

사랑을 받은 우리는 하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하라는 명을 받았다.

마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다해서 하나님을 사랑하자

내 이웃을 내몸처럼 사랑하자

As we have received this love, we too must love. We must love our Father God and our neighbors just as we have been commanded. With all our heart, body, soul and strength, let’s love our God and our neighbors as ourselves

 

3.   말로만 하지말고 행함으로 실천하자

선한 사마리아 인처럼(Luke 눅10:25-36)

Don’t just talk about love. Let’s put our love to action.

Just like the Good Samaritan.
