Let us together give thanks

What is Thanksgiving in the Bible?
     •Remembering the grace of God and sharing with those around you
     •Being thankful in all circumstances
     •Letting Christ rule in your heart

Give thanks
     •“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong
       to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
     •“But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord
        Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:57‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Why do I need to give thanks?
     •We give thanks for the opportunity to become God's people
     •Multi dimension of thanksgiving ◦1st: Thanksgiving for something received
          ◦2nd: Thanksgiving for being able to give
          ◦3rd: Thanksgiving for wisdom of understanding
     ◾Happiness comes from enlightenment to give thanks in all circumstances

          ◦4th: Thanksgiving from faith
     ◾Without faith, you will always have emptiness even in the midst of
        abundance
     ◾without faith, you will be fearful forgetting that you have been given all the
        authority and power from God  
     ◾true victory comes through thanksgiving in all circumstances

Be thankful for God's grace
     •God is the reason we are thankful - He is our Father, our Strength, our
       Savior
     •God is Love and forever loves you
     •Know the will of God ◦“For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son
        and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last
        day.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:40‬ ‭NLT‬‬
          ◦Ask if it is from God or your own selfish desires
          ◦*“Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my
            teaching is from God or is merely my own.” John‬ ‭7:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
          ◦Is there peace in your    
     •For what do we give thanks? ◦For God's miracles
          ◦For God who created the heavens and the earth
          ◦For God who gave us day and night
          ◦For God who guided us out of darkness

     •The secret to success is through thanksgiving
         ◦“thanks to…” Rather than “because of…”
Recognize that thanks to God, thanks to mom/dad, thanks to your friends, thanks to your loved ones, thanks to those around you that you are blessed to be alive to be who you are today!
