How to restore the image of God

“This is the written account of Adam’s family line. When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”” Romans‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭NIV

Realizing the reason why Christ came to this earth was to restore the image of man that was created in the likeness of God

“Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.” Acts‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭NIV‬
•in order for us to be restored, we must seek the characteristics of the fruit
       of the Holy Spirit
•‬God created man on the last day of creation… Why did He create man from
dust? ◦dust represents the basic starting point and foundation of creation
       and life
◦God intended for our foundation to be of the basis of life when He created
       mankind of dust

•To live each day means that you are also dying each prior day… We
acknowledge that death is inevitable but that we live each day we are gifted
with for His will to our best

Knowing the fact that death is inevitable part of life, prioritizing the need to live for God each day

“Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬
•realizing death can come at any moment, young or old
•must live for and to the Lord each day

Trusting God
•Even as Christians, we are at risk because we have old habits of reverting
to shamanistic and superstitious behaviors in time of need, looking for
fortune tellers and falling prey to false prophets
•We should live by prayer and as we lift up each other in the Word
•We must trust God's timing and plan for each of us according to His purpose

‬‬Recognizing true cleanliness: Why was Jesus born in the manger?
•it symbolizes that we are all actually like savage and dirty, only pretending
to be clean superficially ◦How much water are we wasting?
◦how much pollution are we creating?
◦how much waste are we creating?

•Even the manger is cleaner than those of us who “pretend” to live a clean life

Demonstrating servitude in our lives
•Jesus came to serve, saved us through His ultimate sacrifice of His life for us
•We are like rags, ready to clean, always available to clean up the soiled
       world around us

Living in honesty with God as your witness
•there will be what looks like opportunity to get ahead by taking “slight
advantages” when no one's aware… But if that is without honesty, God is
      still witness of this action…
•when you are being honest with God as witness, God will be pleased with
you even when no one else recognizes… And often, God will allow other
rewards even in our lifetime to recognize His will in us

Forgiving because He first forgave us, loving because He first loved us

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

To restore the image of God is to go back to the honesty and truth of God's intent in having created mankind - to SERVE GOD and LIVE for HIS PURPOSE. Honesty will prevail. We can't do this on our own, but God will give us courage and strength. He loves us and will show us the way!
