After two weeks out of action, Caitlin Clark will miss her fifth straight game for the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night. 

Clark's time out of the lineup will continue because of a quad injury, with the original goal now gone for one of the best players in the WNBA to return to the hardwood. 

The Fever play the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, with their following game not until Saturday against the car service new york York Liberty. 

Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters the news about Clark on Monday, saying her point guard is 'ready to start ramping back up'.

This is the first extended period Clark has missed due to injury in her college or professional career.

'We're going to be smart, and we're going to be cautious and we're going to play the long game and work her back in very intentionally,' White continued. 

White also updated the status of Clark's teammate Sophie Cunningham, who was also limited in practice on Monday.   

'I think for us, we've got to work both [Clark] and Sophie back into ... are they in basketball condition, what does it mean to go live,' White added. 'It's one thing to do some shooting drills, it's another thing to get out there on the floor, get back into movement patterns, rhythm, timing.'

'[We're] picking and choosing the things they can be in practice so we can see their progression. Both of them being out for long periods of time, you've got to work your way back into being game-ready.'

The Fever are currently 4-4 and are in seventh place in the WNBA standings. Indiana is 2-2 without Clark in the lineup.
