베드로는 실패했는가?

Did Peter fail?

마태복음 26:31-35

31때에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 오늘 밤에 너희가 다 나를 버리리라 기록된바 내가 목자를 치리니 양의 떼가 흩어지리라 하였느니라 32그러나 내가 살아난 후에 너희보다 먼저 갈릴리로 가리라 33베드로가 대답하여 가로되 다 주를 버릴찌라도 나는 언제든지 버리지 않겠나이다 34예수께서 가라사대 내가 진실로 네게 이르노니 오늘밤 닭 울기 전에 네가 세번 나를 부인하리라 35베드로가 가로되 내가 주와 함께 죽을찌언정 주를 부인하지 않겠나이다 하고 모든 제자도 이와 같이 말하니라

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial (Matthew 26:31-35)

31Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “ ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

33Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.” 34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” 35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same. (Matthew 26:31-35)

우리 인생에서 실패는 예고없이 찾아옵니다. 베드로는 예수님의 수제였습니다. 천국 열쇠를 받은 모범적인 사림이었습니다. 그렇지만 그는 실패했습니다

삼년동안 모시던 스승인 예수님을 모른다고 세번씩이나 부인했습니다. 예수님이 가장 기대했던

제자가 실패했던 원인이 무엇입니까?

 A. 제자가 실패한 원인은 무엇입니까?

               What Causes the Disciples to Fail

1.     중요한 시간에 기도하지 않고 졸았기 때문입니다.

Because I fell asleep without praying at an important time

예수님은 인류를 죄와 사망에서 구원하시기 위하여 겟세마네 동산에서 땀과 눈물과 피를 솓아가며 밤새워 결사적으로 기도하는 시간에 베드로는 잠을 자고 있었습니다. 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 기도하라고 세번 씩이나 당부했지만 잠이들고 말았습니다.

마26:40 40제자들에게 오사 그 자는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시되 너희가 나와 함께 한 시 동안도 이렇게 깨어 있을 수 없더냐 41시험에 들지 않게 깨어 있어 기도하라 마음에는 원이로되 육신이 약하도다 하시고

40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:40,41

마13:25에 사람들이 잘 때에 그 원수가 와서 고긱 가운데에 가라지를 덧뿌리고 간다고 했습니다.  우리가 기도 쉬는 죄를 범하는 순간에 마귀가 트마 자기도 모르는 사이에 생애를 그치는 일이 많습니다. 항상 깨어 기도로 무장해야 합니다. (Matthew 13”25)

25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.

2.     혈기와 감정 때문입니다.

It's because of emotions.

제사장과 종 말고가 몸둥이와 횃불을 들고 예수님을 체포하러 왔을 때, 베드로는 말고의 귀를 칼로 처 귀를 떨어뜨렸습니다.

49좌우가 그 될 일을 보고 여짜오되 주여 우리가 검으로 치리이까 하고 50그 중에 한 사람이 대제사장의 종을 쳐 그 오른편 귀를 떨어뜨린지라 (눅22:49,50)

49When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” 50And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. (Luke 22:49,50)

 그러나 예수님은 칭찬은 커녕 책망하면서 칼을 집에 꽃으라고 명했습니다. 칼을 쓰는 자는 칼로 말하기 때문이었습니다.

3.     주님을 멀리 따라갔기 때문입니다. (마26:58)

Because I followed the Lord far away

58베드로가 멀찍이 예수를 좇아 대제사장의 집 뜰에까지 가서 그 결국을 보려고 안에 들어가 하속들과 함께 앉았더라

58But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. He entered and sat down with the guards to see the outcome. (Matthew 26:58)

예수께서 잡혀갈때 베드로는 예수님을 멀리서 따라갔습니다. 주님을 가장 가까이 따라가야 할 결정적인 순간에 멀리 따라간 것이  실패의 원인입니다.

신앙생활에 있어 중간지대란 있을 수 없습니다. 주님과 멀어져 있는 틈새에 마귀가 끼어들어 시험에 빠지게 합니다. 신앙적 기회주의자는 결국 실패하고 맙니다.

B.  부활하신 예수님을 만난 후 삶은?

Life after meeting the resurrected Jesus.

1. 베드로는 눈물로 회개했습니다. ( 막14:72)

Peter repented with tears.

닭이 곧 두번째 울더라 이에 베드로가 예수께서 가지에게 하신 말씀 곧 닭이 두번 울기 전에 네가 세번 나를 부인하리라 하심이 기억되어 생각하고 울었더라(말14:66-72) 72

72Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept. (Mark 14:66-72) 72

2.   예수님 말씀에 순종했습니다. (요21:4-6)

I obeyed Jesus' words.

날이 새어갈 때에 예수께서 바닷가에 서셨으나 제자들이 예수신줄 알지 못하는지라 5예수께서 이르시되 얘들아 너희에게 고기가 있느냐 대답하되 없나이다 6가라사대 그물을 배 오른편에 던지라 그리하면 얻으리라 하신대 이에 던졌더니 고기가 많아 그물을 들 수 없더라

4Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.5 He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. 6He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. (john21:4-6

3.   기도하라는 말씀에 기도했습니다. (헹 1: 12-14)

Peter prayed at the word to pray.

12제자들이 감람원이라 하는 산으로부터 예루살렘에 돌아오니 이 산은 예루살렘에서 가까와 안식일에 가기 알맞은 길이라 13들어가 저희 유하는 다락에 올라가니 베드로, 요한, 야고보, 안드레와 빌립, 도마와 바돌로매, 마태와 및 알패오의 아들 야고보, 셀롯인 시몬, 야고보의 아들 유다가 다 거기 있어 14여자들과 예수의 모친 마리아와 예수의 아우들로 더불어 마음을 같이하여 전혀 기도에 힘쓰니라

12Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day’s walk from the city. 13When they arrived; they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James’s son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. (Acts 1:12-14)
