Let’s experience the manifestation of faith

 

여호수아 3:1-7여호수아가 아침에 일찌기 일어나서 이스라엘 사람들로 더불어 싯딤에서 떠나 요단에 이르러서는 건너지 아니하고 거기서 유숙하니라 2삼일 후에 유사들이 진중으로 두루 다니며 3백성에게 명하여 가로되 너희는 레위 사람 제사장들이 너희 하나님 여호와의 언약궤 메는 것을 보거든 너희 곳을 떠나 그 뒤를 좇으라 4그러나 너희와 그 사이 상거가 이천 규빗쯤 되게 하고 그것에 가까이 하지는 말라 그리 하면 너희 행할 길을 알리니 너희가 이전에 이 길을 지나보지 못하였음이니라 5여호수아가 또 백성에게 이르되 너희는 스스로 성결케 하라 여호와께서 내일 너희 가운데 기사를 행하시리라 6여호수아가 또 제사장들에게 일러 가로되 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞서 건너라 하매 곧 언약궤를 메고 백성 앞서 나아가니라 7여호와께서 여호수아에게 이르시되 내가 오늘부터 시작하여 너를 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 크게 하여 내가 모세와 함께 있던 것 같이 너와 함께 있는 것을 그들로 알게 하리라

Crossing the Jordan (Joshua 3:1-8)

1 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.” 5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” 6 Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.” So they took it up and went ahead of them. 7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. 8 Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ” (Joshua 3:1-7

A.  믿음의 역사란?

What is the manifestation of faith?

믿음의 행위요, 믿음으로 행한일이요, 믿음의 활동이라 할 수 있습니다.  이는 사랑의 수고와 소망의 인내의 밑거름이며 출발점입니다. 믿음이 있어야 사랑의 수고도 감당하고 소망을 위해 인내 할 수 있습니다.

그러면 믿음이란 히브리서 기자는  바라는 것들의 실상이요 보이지 않는 것들의 증거라 하였습니다. 믿음은 헬라어 고전에서 어떤 사람이 하나님에 대하여 갖는 신뢰,  진실성, 또는 사업상 신용, 보증, 증명등을 의미라고 했습니다.그래서 우리말 사전에는 어떤 사실이나 사람을 믿는 마음이라 했습니다.  

바울은 믿음을 약속하신 그것을 또한 이루실 줄을 확신하는 것이라고하였고(롬4:21)

21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised,(Romans 4:21)

또한 하나님이 말씀하신 그대로 되리라고 하나님을 믿는 것이라했습니다(행 27:25)

’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me. (Acts 27:25)

성경에서는 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보지못한 것들의 증거라 했는데 바라는 것은 하나님의 약속의 성취를 바라보는 소망과 관계가 있습니다. 그래서 히브리서 11장에 믿음의 선조들이 모두 하나님의 약속을 바라보고 핍박과 고난 가운데서도신실하게 믿음을 지켰다고 말씀해 주고 있습니다.

성경이 말하는 믿음은 역사의 주인이신 하나님과 하나님의 약속에 대한 신뢰입니다.

 

노아는 믿음으로 아직 보이지 않은 일에 경고하심을 받아  방주를 만드는 역사를 하였습니다.(히11:7)   7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith. (Hebrews 11:7)

아브라함은 믿음으로 그가 이방의 땅에 있는 것같이 약속의 땅에 거하여 동일한 약속을 유업으로   이스라엘 나라를   받았는데 성경은 이를  믿음으로 약속을 유업으로 받은 것이라고 하였습니다. 히브리서 11:33절 에 그들은 믿음으로 나라들을 이기기도 하며 ,의를 행하기도 하며, 약속을 받기도 하였다고 하였습니다.

I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 33who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,(Hebrews 11:32-33)

모세가 이스라엘 백성을 인도하여 홍해를 건너는 것도  믿음의 역사요

여호수아가 이스라엘 백성과 함께 요단강을 건너간 것도 하나님의 말씀을 믿은 믿음의 역사였습니다.

 

B.              하나님은  왜 믿음의 역사를 행하게 하시는가?

     Why does God perform manifestations of faith?

1.    여호와 하나님은 살아계시는 하나님이심을  믿게 하기위해

So that we will believe that He is the living God

하나님은 떨기나무 불꽃 가운데서 모세에게 나타나나시어 (출3:2),   2There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush.하나님은 “이제 내가 너를 바로에게 보내어 너로 내 백성 이스라엘 자손을 애굽에서서 인도하여 내게 하리라”  (출 3:10)  So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

이때 모세는 다섯번이나 하나님께 가지 않겠다고 (출3:11, 13; 4:1, 10,13 이유를 들었습니다. 그러나 “하나님께서는 스스로 있는 분이심을”  말씀하시면서 이스라엘 백성들이 믿지 않거든 손에든 지팡이가 뱀이 되게 하셨고, 모세가 가슴에 손을 넣었다 내었을 때 문둥병이 되었고 다시 품에 넣었을 때 처음과 같이 됨을 통하여 하나님 자신을 보여 주셨습니다.

결국 하나님 말씀대로 애굽에가서 10번의 재앙의 이적을 통하여 살아계시고 스스로 계시는 하나님이시요, 이스라엘 조상 아브라함, 이삭과 야곱의 하나님이심을 믿게 하셨습니다.

 

2.     전적으로 하나님을 믿으면 이루어 주신다는 것을 보여주시기 위해

To show that God acknowledges those that place complete faith in God

이스라엘 백성이 애굽에서 나와  모세의 인도로 광야 40년간을 지냈는데 모세가 나이가 120세가 되어 죽게 되자  하나님께서는 모세의 시종이었던 여호수아를 새로운 새대의 지도자로 삼으셨습니다.  여호수아가 이스라엘 백성을 인도하여 젗과 꿀이 흐르는 가나안 땅에 들어가려고 할때  요단강이 앞을 가로 막고 있었습니다.

 이스라엘 백성들은 요단강 앞에서 3일 동안 유숙한 후  유사들이 온백성들에게 말하기를 레위 사람 제사장들이 하나님의 언약궤를 매는 것을 보거든 너희 장막을 떠나 그 뒤를 좇으라 하였고 여호와 하나님께서는  여호수아에게 이르시되 “내가 오늘 부터 시작하여 너를 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 크게 하여 내가 모세와 함께 있던 것 같이 너와 함께 있는 것을 백성들이 알게 하셨습니다” (수 3:7) 7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses..(Exodus 3:7)

 

3.    모든일을 이루시는 하나님이심을 깨닫게 하기 위해(수3:1-17)

So that we realize that all works are by God

여호수아는 하나님의 말씀 따라 언약궤를 맨 제사장들에게 명하여  “너희가 요단 물가에 이르거든 요단강에 들어서라 (수3:8) 이스라엘 백성에게는 “이리와서 너희 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 들으라”(9), 사시는 하나님이 너희 가운데 계시사 가나안 일곱족속을  쫓아 내리라(10)  여호와의 법궤가 요단강으로 들어가리니 이스라엘 각지파중에서 1명씩을 선택하라 (12) 궤를 맨 제사장들의 발바닥이 요단 물을 밟고 멈추면 요단 물, 위에서 부터 내려오던 물이 끊어지고 쌓여 서리라

7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. 8 Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ”9 Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God. 10This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. 11 See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. 12 Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe (Joshua 3:7-12)

말씀대로 여호와의 궤를 맨 제사장들의 발이 요단물에 잠기자(수3:15) 곧 위에서 부터 흘러 내리던 물이 그쳐서 심히 멀리 사르단에 가까운 아담 읍 변방에 일어나 쌓이고 아라바의 바다 염해로흘러가는 물은 온전히 끊어지매 백성이 여리고 앞으로 바로 건널새 여호와의 언약궤를 맨 제사장들은 요단 가운데 마른 땅에 굳게섰고 온 이스라엘 백성은 마른 땅으로 행하여 요단을 건넜습니다. (수3:14-17)

14 So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. 15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground. (Joshua 3:14-17)

 

C.   어떻게 믿음의 역사를 체험할 수 있습니까?

   How can we experience the manifestation of faith?

1.    하나님을 믿고 명하신 바를 순종할 때 (요5:19,20)

By entrusting ourselves to God and obeying Him

먼저 하나님을 믿어라 그리고 하나님의 말씀을 믿어라

예수님은 이땅에 오셔서 가르쳤던 모든 말씀이 자기것이 없다고 하였습니다. 예수께서 가르치던 말씀은 하나님의 말씀이라 하였습니다.

19그러므로 예수께서 저희에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 아들이 아버지의 하시는 일을 보지 않고는 아무 것도 스스로 할 수 없나니 아버지께서 행하시는 그것을 아들도 그와 같이 행하느니라 20아버지께서 아들을 사랑하사 자기의 행하시는 것을 다 아들에게 보이시고 또 그보다 더 큰 일을 보이사 너희로 기이히 여기게 하시리라 (요5:19,20)  19Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. (John 5:19,20)

 

2.  하나님의 역사가 나타날때까지 믿고 기다려라.

By persevering and maintaining your faith

구원을 얻는 믿음이든, 생활적인 믿음이든, 기적을 행하는 믿음이든, 어떤 믿음이든지 하나님께서 은혜로 주시는 것입니다. 기다리는 과정중에서 생각나는 모든 죄를 회개해야 합니다.우리 마음속에 죄악을 감추면, 하나님께서는 우리 기도를 들어 주시지 않습니다. 우리가 울 죄를 회개하며 자복하고 증오를 버리며 화해하면서 하나님의 역사를 기다리면 그 다음은 하나님께서 일하십니다. 하나님께서 하시는 일은 순시간에 행하실 수 있고 한달 후에, 아니 몇년후에 주실 수도 있습니다. 아브라함은 약속을 받은 후 25년을 기다렸습니다.

 

3.  하나님의 사역에 동참하라

By participating in God’s works and ministry

1)    하나님은 우리를 위해 항상 일하심을 믿어라 God is always at work around you

2)       하나님은 우리와 관계를 갖기를 원하신다는 것을 마음에 두라  

      God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal

3)    하나님이 초청하실 때 아멘으로 응답하라                                                        

     God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.

4)       하나님의 음성, 말씀을 항상 묵상하라

     God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself,

     His purposes, and His ways.

5)    하나님과 관계에서 갈등이 생길 수 있음을 알고 대처하라

God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief

that requires faith and action.

6)       하나님의 말씀에 나의 것을 내려놓으라

You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.

7)       하나님의 말씀에 순종하라

       You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you.

 

우리에게 주시는 말씀Today’s Lesson

하나님은 자신이 하나님이심을 나타내시고 우리에게 임무를 부여하실 때 우리는 그 말씀으로 인하여 물질적으로나, 명예적으로나 힘든일이 있을 지라도 하나님의 말씀에 아멘으로 응답하여 순종하고 행으로 나아갈 때 하나님은 우리를 영생의 길로, 생명의 길로 변함이 없이 항상 인도하심에 감사를 드립시다.

Let’s experience the manifestation of faith by acknowledging the living God’s presence and actions all around us. As He speaks to us with exhortations and commands, let’s be obedient and answer with an Amen to whatever challenge or obstacle it may place before us so that we may be worthy to continue on God’s righteous path of salvation and eternal life.
