A Joyful Christian

“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew‬ ‭5:1-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

A joyful person is not…
     •one who has a lot of material possessions.
     •one who has authority.
     •by something we can see with our eyes.

So, when measuring the degree of happiness, gross domestic product, life expectancy, Gallup poll on Happiness Index is calculated on the basis of world public opinion surveys, such as on freedom, corruption, social security. According to such a poll, currently Swiss is ranked #1.

Happiness formula
Happiness = P + (5xE) + (3xH)

Happiness= Adaptability + 5x (Money, Standard of living/Health) + 3x(Pride, Ambition)

Then how do we become a joyful Christian?
    •Happiness comes from understanding
    •Happiness comes from humility
    •Happiness comes from obedience

Application

    •Don’t worry about tomorrow

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)

     •Be thankful for everything you have received today

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

     •Live a life that is pleasing to God

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrew 11:6 )

     •There is only AMEN in God’s word and complete faith in his word

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas[a] and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has alwaysbeen “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:19,20)

     •Happiness is to receive forgiveness/remission of my sins

Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.    “(Romans 4:7,8)

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. (Psalms 32:1)

We receive this grace by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Through Him we have been saved. This is the true reason for our happiness as Christians so celebrate and spread this Good News!
