성탄절을 맞이하는 우리의 자세

How should we greet Christmas?

 

누가복음 2:7-14   맏아들을 낳아 강보로 싸서 구유에 뉘었으니 이는 사관에 있을 곳이 없음이러라 8그 지경에 목자들이 밖에서 밤에 자기 양떼를 지키더니 9주의 사자가 곁에 서고 주의 영광이 저희를 두루 비취매 크게 무서워하는지라 10천사가 이르되 무서워 말라 보라 내가 온 백성에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식을 너희에게 전하노라 11오늘날 다윗의 동네에 너희를 위하여 구주가 나셨으니 곧 그리스도 주시니라 12너희가 가서 강보에 싸여 구유에 누인 아기를 보리니 이것이 너희에게 표적이니라 하더니 13홀연히 허다한 천군이 그 천사와 함께 있어 하나님을 찬송하여 가로되 14지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 기뻐하심을 입은 사람들 중에 평화로다 하니라

and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:7-14)

A.  크리스마스란?

What is Christmas?

한 해의 마지막을 맞이하며 우리는 따뜻한 온기와 사랑이 넘치는 시간, 크리스마스를 다시 맞이하게 되었습니다.  이 특별한 날은 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 기억하며, 인류에게 기쁨과 희망을 선사하는 중요한 의미를 가지고 있습니다.

크리스마스는 전 세계 기독교인들뿐만 아니라, 다양한 종교와 문화를 가진 이들에게도 의미 있는 시기로 다가옵니다.

1.        크리스마스는 곧 성탄절

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ.

성탄절(聖誕節) 또는 크리스마스(Christmas)는 기독교의 최대 축제일로 알려져 있다. 크리스마스는 그리스도(Christ)와 가톨릭의 예배 의식인  미사(mass)의 합성어이다.   

 X-MAS라고 쓰는 경우도 있는데, X는 그리스어의 그리스도(크리스토스, XPIΣTOΣ)의 첫 글자를 딴 것이다. 프랑스에서는 노엘(Noël), 이탈리아에서는 나탈레(Natale),

독일에서는 바이나흐텐(Weihnachten)이라고 한다.

 

크리스마스는 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 기념하는 기독교의 중요한 날로, "그리스도의 미사" 를 의미합니다.  미사란 카톨릭에서 하나님을 찬양하는 대표적인 종교의식이며

로마 가톨릭교회의 일곱가지 성사 (세례성사, 견진성사, 성체성사, 고해성사, 병자성사, 성품성사, 혼인성사)[1] 가운데 하나님 성체성사가 중심을 이루는 라틴 전례양식입니다.  미사란 하나님이 세상을 사랑하여 이땅에 독생자이신 예수님을 보내셔서 우리들의 죄를 속죄하시기 위해  희생제물로 받치신 제사 입니다.

기독교에서는 제사가 바로 예배를 드리는 것인데  그리스도를 중심으로한 예배는 우리모두가 한마음이 되어 창조주이신 하나님께 감사와 공경의 마음을 드리고 우리를 구원에로 이끌어 주신 예수님의 잔치에 참여 하는 것입니다.

이는 예수 그리스도가 이 세상에 오셨음을 기념하고, 그의 생명과 가르침을 기리는 의미를 담고 있습니다.

 

2.     크리스마스의 역사

The history of Christmas

크리스마스의 기원은 서기 4세 경에 로마 제국 내에서 크리스마스가 처음으로 기념되었으며,  그 당시 로마의 의식과 기독교의 기념일이 결합하여 크리스마스의 형태가 형성되었습니다. 

전 세계 각지에서 크리스마스는 다양한 방식으로 기념됩니다.

예를 들어, 미국에서는 산타 클로스가 선물을 나눠주는 행사가 큰 인기를 끌며, 러시아에서는 크리스마스 이브에 특별한 저녁 식사를 즐기는 전통이 있습니다.

또한, 몇몇 국가에서는 크리스마스 캐롤 놀이와 퍼레이드가 큰 관심을 받습니다.

크리스마스는 사랑과 희망을 전하는 시기입니다.

이는 사람들이 서로에게 관심을 기울이고, 따뜻한 마음으로 나누는 시간입니다.

크리스마스의 의미는 선물이나 장식물에만 국한되지 않습니다.

이는 우리가 서로를 더욱 소중히 여기고 아끼며 살아가는 계기가 됩니다.

 

B.  왜 예수님이 이 땅에 오셨습니까?

Why did Jesus come to this world?

1.     성경에서 하신 예언의 말씀을 이루기 위해(이사야 11:1-9)

To fulfill the prophesy of the bible.

 

1 ) 예수그리스도는 약속된 메시야시다.

Jesus is the promised Messiah: (Isaiah 11:1)

메시야가 오실 것을 이사야 선지자를 통하여 예언하셨다. (사11:1)

이새의 줄기에서 한 싹이 나며 그 뿌리에서 한 가지가 나서 결실한 것이요

 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. (Isaiah 11:1)

유대 베들레헴에서 탄생하셨다(미가서 5:2 베들레헴 에브라다야 너는 유다 족속중에 작을 지라도 이스라엘을 다스릴 자가 네게서 내게로 나올 것이라

 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” (Micah 5:2

하셨는데 마태복음 2:6절에보면 베들레헴에서 탄생하셨다.

 

2)  예수그리스도는 여호와의 령에 충만하셨다

The spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus Christ (Isaiah 11:2)

2절  여호와의 신, 지혜와 총명의 신이요, 모략과 재능의 신이요, 지식과 여호와를 경외하는 신이 그 위에  강림하시니라

2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

 

3 ) 의의 통치요. (사11:4)

Judge of righteousness

 4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips, he will slay the wicked.

        의의 통치가 이루어지는 곳에는 평화가 있습니다.(사11:6) 그때에 이리가 어린 양과 함께 살며 표범이 어린 염소와 함께 누우며, 송아지와 어린 사자와 살진 짐승이 함께 있어 어린 아이에게 끄리며

 

2.     죄인을 구원하시기 위해.

To save sinners (마1:21)

 아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라(마 1:21)

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:21)

 

3.     양으로 생명을 얻게 하기 위해(요10: 10

 To give the opportunity to gain life through the lamb.

 도적이 오는 것은 도적질하고 죽이고 멸망시키려는 것뿐이요 내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라  10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.(John 10:10)

4.     죄인을 회개하시키기 위해

 Bring sinners to repentance  (눅5:31,32  

 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 건강한 자에게는 의원이 쓸데 없고 병든 자에게라야 쓸데 있나니 32내가 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 불러 회개시키러 왔노라

Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Luke 5:31,32)

 

5.     잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하시기 위해

To find and save those who are lost (눅19:10 고후 5:10

9예수께서 이르시되 오늘 구원이 이 집에 이르렀으니 이 사람도 아브라함의 자손임이로다 10인자의 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라

 9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 199,10)

고후5:10 이는 우리가 다 반드시 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 드러나 각각 선악간에 그 몸으로 행한 것을 따라 받으려 함이라 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2Corinthians 5:10)

 

6.     많은 사람들을 섬기고 자신을 대속물로 주시기 위해

To serve many and give his life as ransom (막10:45 )

인자의 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

 

7.     영생주시려고  To give us eternal life ( 요6:38-40 )

내가 하늘로서 내려 온 것은 내 뜻을 행하려 함이 아니요 39나를 보내신 이의 뜻을 행하려 함이니라 나를 보내신 이의 뜻은 내게 주신 자 중에 내가 하나도 잃어버리지 아니하고 마지막 날에 다시 살리는 이것이니라 40내 아버지의 뜻은 아들을 보고 믿는 자마다 영생을 얻는 이것이니 마지막 날에 내가 이를 다시 살리리라 하시니라

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40For my father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John6:38-40)

 

8.     하나님의 자녀 삼으시려고 To make us His children (롬8:14; 갈 4:6 )

로마서 8:  14무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 그들은 곧 하나님의 아들이라 15너희는 다시 무서워하는 종의 영을 받지 아니하였고 양자의 영을 받았으므로 아바 아버지라 부르짖느니라 16성령이 친히 우리 영으로 더불어 우리가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증거하시나니 17자녀이면 또한 후사 곧 하나님의 후사요 그리스도와 함께한 후사니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도

함께 받아야 될 것이니라

14For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

갈4:6 너희가 아들인고로 하나님이 그 아들의 영을 우리 마음 가운데 보내사 아바 아버지라 부르게 하셨느니라 7그러므로 네가 이 후로는 종이 아니요 아들이니 아들이면 하나님으로 말미암아 유업을 이을 자니라

 (Galatians 4:6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

 

9.     마귀의 일을 멸하시기 위해 (요일3:8)

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work

죄를 짓는 자는 마귀에게 속하나니 마귀는 처음부터 범죄함이니라 하나님의 아들이 나타나신 것은 마귀의 일을 멸하려 하심이니라

8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work .(1John 3:8)

 

 

C.   우리는 성탄절을 맞으며 어떠한 삶을 살아야 할까?

As we greet Christmas, how should be lived our lives?

 

1.     하나님의말씀을 지키고 순종 하는 것입니다.

Keep and obey the word of God.

하나님께서는 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명을 주시고  부와 영광도 주셨습니다. 이모든것을

 받은 솔로몬은 살아가는 동안 자기 뜻대로 할 수 있었습니다. 그러나 전도서에서 자기가

지나온 세월을 회고하며  헛된 삶을 살았다고 하였습니다. 그의 마지막 삶을 고백하기를

인간은 “ 하나님을 경외하고 하나님의 명령을 지키는  것이 사람의 본분이라 하였습니다.

(전12:13) 13Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.

14For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing,

whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14)

 

2.     하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 내 몸처럼 사랑하는 것입니다.

Love God and love your neighbors as yourself. (마22:37-40)

전심으로 하나님을 사랑하는 것입니다.  예배에 열심히 참여하며, 성경말씀을 매일 묵상하며 전심으로 기도하는 생활을 하는 것입니다.

또한 선한 사마리아인처럼 내 이웃을 사랑하는 마음을 실천할 수 있어야 합니다.

(눅 10:25-37) The Parable of the Good Samaritan

36“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

우리에게 주시는 교훈

Today’s Lesson

1.    특별하게 지정한 하루가 아닌 매일 우리를 구원하신 주님 중심으로 살자Not just on special occasions like Christmas but let’s live every day of our lives centered upon our savior and Lord.

왜냐하면 하나님이 하시는 일이 있고 우리가 해야 할 일이 있기 때문입니다.

예수께서는  때와 기한은 하나님께서 자기의 권한에 두셨으니 너희의 알바 아니요 하셨습니다. (행1:7)

하나님께서는 세상을 사랑하십니다..  그래서 언제 죽고 언제 태어날 것인가를 우리의 권한이 아니라 하나님의 권에 있으심을 강조하십니다.

  예수님이 이 땅에 오신 것이 중요합니다.  우리는 그것만 알고 감사하면 됩니다. 그래서

주님이 다시 우리를 심판하시기 위해 오시지만 언제 오실지도 알려 주지 않습니다.

There are things that God does and there are things we must do. He said, “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” God loves the world, and He solely decides when we are born and when we will die. It is very important that Jesus came to this world. All we need to do is acknowledge that Jesus came to this world and be thankful as we wait for our Lord’s return.

 

2.    우리는 하나님의 말씀을 믿고 감사하며  살자.

Let’s live our lives with faith and gratitude for the word of God.

하나님이 우리를 사랑하십니다. 우리는 하나님  말씀에 순종하고 아멘으로 응답하며 감사하며  살아가는 것을 하나님은 원하십니다.

God loves us and all he wants from us is for us to obey his word with Amen and give thanks to him as we live our daily lives.
