Jesus is the Secret to Happiness

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1-6‬ NIV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ NIV)

What is happiness?
•being healthy, body, mind, and soul
•being thankful in current circumstances
•being loved and having the ability to love •Width of love is having tolerance
•Length of love is eternal
•Height of love is Agape
•Depth of love is by grace of God


Happiness is in the Gospel
•Paul tells us about the law of life through Jesus Christ •Law of the Holy Spirit
•not of the flesh
•not by our own actions but by faith
•no condemnation
•law that frees us from sin and death
•no longer bound by the flesh but saved through the grace of God with eternal life

•We have been freed from sin and can live an eternal life •The commandments are not evil but rather good, holy, and righteous
•but the laws alone has judgement

•Seek to live in Christ for mercy •There is no judgement for those who live in Christ
•in Christ, we are forgiven and deemed free from sin

•As Saints, we must remain in Christ Jesus •Christians are In Christ
•and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. (‭Acts‬ ‭11‬:‭26‬ NIV)
•Jesus says “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me”. (‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ NIV)


Those in Christ receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit
-The Holy Spirit frees us from sin, death and condemnation
- * In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ NIV)*
•Holy Sprit gives life and freedom •But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬ NIV)

•Where the law fails, the Holy Spirit works to give us life
•Holy Spirit gives us life through Jesus Christ who gave us remission of our sins through his sacrifice
•Holy Spirit gives us life through Christ who is righteous •When we believe that Christ is the son of Living God
•When we participate in the divine nature of Christ, we are made righteous
•Abundance with fruit of righteousness which lifts up glory to God
•God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ NIV)
•we reap what we sow

Christ fulfilled the Law
•Christ pointed out and set what is sin and evil
•Christ established righteousness for all mankind through His ultimate sacrifice
•Christ took it upon Himself to free us from the laws of sin and death ;Rom 5:8 •Christ died on behalf of all the people
•Jesus came to give us life
•Jesus is the resurrection
•Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ NIV)
•Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬ NIV)

•Jesus is the only way to true happiness

**We must trust God an believe that we are happy in the Holy Spirit as we have been demonstrated and saved by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our freedom. God is happy and glorified in out thankfulness and happiness in Him. Experience all the dimensions of true love and happiness in Christ Jesus. Do not seek it elsewhere. Lay it all down with Jesus Christ. **
