What will we believe?
Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken: “I
reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled
against me. The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger,
but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.” ( Isaiah
1 : 2-3 NIV)
God gives us something better
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then,
though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good
gifts to those who ask him! ( Matthew 7 : 9-11 NIV)
God gives us His Kingdom
But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as
well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been
pleased to give you the kingdom. ( Luke 12 : 31-32 NIV)
David's confession
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the
sum of them! ( Psalm 139 : 17 NIV)
Paul's confession
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is
to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has
given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s
grace. ( Acts 20 : 24 NIV)
He loves those who deny themselves
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only
to take it up again. ( John 10 : 17 NIV)
Remember Peter's confession
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the
living God.” ( Matthew 16 : 16 NIV)
Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!”
he said. “This shall never happen to you!” ( Matthew 16 : 22 NIV)
God is our Father and in Him we shall receive salvation and
victory in Christ Jesus
