Why do we need to love the Lord?

“I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.” Psalm‬ ‭18:1-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
As David was anointed, he was persecuted by Saul for 10 years… This is the Psalm which he lifted up to God who anointed him and selected him to become King of the people of Israel. He praised God who kept his promise to make him King ~ as God is perfect in every way.
