Sermon

Reconciliation through Jesus Christ

Colossians 1:19-23 /

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your mindsbecause of[a] your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

5:1)” Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”(Romans 5:1)

“For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life.(Leviticus 17:11)

그래서 예수님께서는 “죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람들을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피” 라고 마26:28에 말씀했고,” 이것은 죄 사함을 얻게 하려고 많은 사람을 위하여 흘리는 바 나의 피 곧 언약의 피니라”(마26:28) This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.(Matthew 26:28)

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.(Hebrew 9:22) “율법을 좇아 거의 모든 물건이 피로써 정결케 되나니 피흘림이 없은즉 사함이 없느니라(히9:22)

  1. 화목의 대상 The object of reconciliation     만물입니다.

“아담에게 이르시되 네가 네 아내의 말을 듣고 내가 너더러 먹지 말라 한 나무 실과를 먹었은 즉 땅은 너로 인하여 저주를 받고 너는 종신토록 수고하여야 그 소산을 먹으리라”(창3:17) To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.(Gen3:17)

“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.(Rom8:20-22)  “21

He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."(Revelation 21:5)

“21전에 악한 행실로 멀리 떠나 마음으로 원수가 되었던 너희를22이제는 그의 육체의 죽음으로 말미암아 화목케 하사 너희를 거룩하고 흠 없고 책망할 것이 없는 자로 그 앞에 세우고자 하셨으니”(골1:21,22)  Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.22But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

(Colossians 1:21,22)

The purpose of reconciliation

하나님께서는 창세전에 그리스도 안에서 우리를 선택하셔서 그 앞에 거룩하고 흠없게 하려하셨습니다.(엡1:4-5)  “5(1:4,5)“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love5he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—(Ephesians 1:4,5)

“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.(John 19:30)

The evidence of reconciliation with God

ㅁ나일 너희가 믿음에 거하고 터 위에 굳게 서서 너희 들은 바 복음의 소망에서 흔들리지 아니하면 그리하리라 이 복음ㅇ느 천하 만민에게 전파된 바요 나 바울은 이 복음의 일꾼이 되었노라“(골로새서1:23) if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.(Colossians 1:23)

  • 만일 너희가 믿음에 거하고 터 위에 굳게 서서 너희 들은 바 복음의 소망에서 흔들리지 아니하면 그리하리라 이 복음은 천하 만민에게 전파된 바요 나 바울은 이 복음의 일꾼이 되었노라 (골1:23)  ) if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.(Colossians 1:23)
The Gospel was God’s way to save those who believe
10:17) You must hear the Gospel

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.(Romans 10:17)

10:25) You must gather together to hear

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(Hebrew 10:25)

16:16) Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."(Matthew 16:16)”

Believe that the Holy Spirit is dwelling within us

3:16) Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?(1 Corinthians 3:16)

15:3-4) Believe in the resurrection of Christ Jesus

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,(1 Corinthians 15:3,4)

1:12) Believe that you can become a child of God

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—( John 1:12)

You must repent   예수 그리스도를 구주로 믿지 못한 것을 회개해야 합나디(요16:9) 예수 그리스도를 구주로 믿지 못한 것을 회개해야 합니다.(요16:9)  죄악에서 돌아서야 합니다.(행 3:19) "그러므로 너희가 회개하고 돌이켜 너희 죄 없이 함을 받으라 이같이 하면 유쾌하게 되는 날이 주 앞으로부터 이를 것이요(사도행전 3:19)  Rpent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord(Acts 3:19)
You must confess and be baptized
16:16) Confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God

16:16) Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."(Matthew 16:16)

Profess that Jesus is the Christ in front of everyone

10:32) Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.(Matthew 10:32)

16:33) Once you realize, be baptized immediately

16:33) At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.(Acts 16:33)

Why do we need baptism?

16:16)To believe and be baptized is to gain salvation

16:16) Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.(Mark 16:16)

2:38) Once you are baptized you receive the Holy Spirit

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

(Acts 2:38)

3:15-17) Even Jesus Christ received baptism

Then John consented.16As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.17And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."(Matthew 3:15-17)

b)침례(세례)방법 Baptism by immersion

3:13-16) We must go to where there is water

“ Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.14But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"

15Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then John consented.16As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.17And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

3:23) Baptize with plenty of water

요한도 살렘 가까운 애논에서 침례를 주니 거기 물들이 많음이라 사람들이 와서 침례를 받더라(요3:23) Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized.(John 3:23)

6:4)’ As a sign that you die with Christ, completely be immersed in the water

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.(Romans 6:4)

28:19) Be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

28:19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

(Matthew 28:19)

  • 성경은 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 구원에 이르는 지혜가 있게 한다고 가르치고 있습니다.(딤후3:15) The bible tells us that by believing in Jesus Christ, we gain the wisdom of salvation. 또 네가 어려서부터 성경을 알았나니 성경은 능히 너로 하여금 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음으로 말미암아 구원에 이르는 지혜가 있게 하느니라. and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.(2Timothy 3:15)
The lesson of the reconciliation of Jesus Christ
First, we must be reconciled with God

Second, the evidence of reconciliation is the faith in our savior, Jesus Christ

Third, living a good Christian life (in righteousness)
