What does the bible show us?
1 Corinthians 고린도전서 10:11
11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
2 Timothy 디모데후서 3:15-17
15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a]may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

거울은 얼굴이나 여러가지 모습을 무엇이든지 거짓없이 그대로 비추어 줌으로서 잘못된 부분을 다듬고 고치도록 하는 것입니다. 그래서 우리는 생활 속에서 모임이나 교훈의 될 만한 것을 본 받아야 할 때 거울로 삼는다 라고 표현하기도 합니다. 그런데 거울로 삼는다는 것이 반드시 좋은 일만 가지고 이야기 하는 것은 아닙니다. 과거의 실수나 실례를 거울 로 삼아 배울 점을 찾아낼 수도 있는 것이기 때문입니다. A mirror reflects an image, as is, without adulteration so that we can correct and touch on the flaws that we see. This is why when we face situations or meetings in which we find corrections, we express it as "looking at ourselves in the mirror". However, this does not mean looking in the mirror is always a good thing. It is only when we are able to reflect upon our past mistakes and learn from them that this "looking in the mirror" becomes constructive and helpful.
성경은 성도에 있어서 없어서는 안되며, 성도들이 몰라서도 않될 교훈과 징계의 사실을 보여주는 말씀입니다. 성경은 무엇을 우리에게 보여주고 있습니까? The bible is an inextricable component in the lives of those who believe as it shows important lessons and the consequent punishments through the words. What does the bible show us?
첫째, 성경은 구원의 길을 보여 줍니다.
First, the bible shows us the path to salvation
성경은 우리가 죽을 수 밖에 없는 죄인들이 영원히 구원 얻을 수 있는 생명의 길을 보여 줍니다. 그래서 예수께서는
“너희가 성경에서 영생 얻는 줄 생각하고 성경을 상고하거니와 이 성경이 곧 내게 대하여 증거하는 것이로다.”(요5:58) 하셨습니다.
그렇습니다. 성경은 우리가 구원을 얻을 수 있는 중요한 말씀을 보여 주십니다.
여러분은 영생을 얻고 싶으십니까?
우리 구주 예수 그리스도에 대하여 자세히 알고 싶으십니까?
성경을 보시기 바랍니다. 성경을 읽으십시요, 성경말씀을 들으십시요
1) 성경은 우리에게 무엇이 믿음인가를 보여 주십니다.(Romans 롬10:17) The bible shows us what faith is
“믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 옵니다.”
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
a) 말씀을 믿을 때 우리 생각이 변하게 하십니다. (막16:16)
When we believe in the word, it has the power to change the way we think
(our paradigms)
말씀을 믿게 되면 하나님을 발견하게 됩니다. 왜 하나님이 우리를 위하여 독생자를 보내 주셨는가를 알게 됩니다. 왜 내가 지금까지 고집을 부리며 남을 사랑하지 못하고 살아왔는가를 깨닫게 해 줍니다. 내가 지금까지 나만 생각하고 나 중심으로 살아왔는가 알게 될 것입니다. 그래서 마음의 문을 열고 이웃도 바라볼 수 있게 될 것입니다.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be sved, but whoever does not condemned.
b) 나를 돌이켜 볼 수 있는 계기를 주실 것입니다.(행2:38)
We receive the opportunity to self reflect
내가 지금까지 살아온 것이 얼마나 잘못되었는가를 발견하게 되고 깨닫게 되어 회개의 역사가 나타나게 될 것입니다. 왜 내가 예수님의 참 사랑을 그대로 받아 들이지 못하였는가를 알게 되어 주님을 찾게 될 것입니다.
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
c) 예수님이 살아계신 아들로 고백하게 될것입니다(마16:16)
We can confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God
베드로가 고백한 것같이 “ 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들입니다.” 고백할 수 있게 될 것입니다. 그래서 죽어도 주님을 위해 죽겠습니다. 살아서는 주님을 영원히 나의 주님으로 첫 자리에 모시겠습니다. 하는 결단을 하게 될 것입니다.
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
d) 지금까지 살아온 나의 삶 전체를 많은 물에 장사 지낼 수 있는 결단을 할 것입니
다.We can make the all important decision to lay down the life we have
been living up to this point
주님을 나의 주님으로 모시지 못하였던 것을, 진정으로 이웃을 사랑하지 못하였던 것을 모든 물속에 장사 지내고 예수님께서 부활하신 것처럼 거듭나서 새 생명을 얻게 될 것입니다.
성경은 우리의 참된 구원과 영원한 생명을 보여 주시기에 시편 기자는 하나님의 말씀을 주야로 묵상하는 사람을 가리켜 복있는 사람이라고 하였습니다.(시1:1,2)죄와 허물을 보여 줍니다.
둘째, 성경은 사랑의 힘을 보여줍니다.
Second, the bible shows us the power of love
1.하나님의 사랑입니다. God is Love
“하나님께서 다만 너희를 사랑하심을 인하여 또는 너희 열조에게하신 맹세를 지키려 하심을 인하여 자기의 권능의 손으로 너희를 인도하여 내시되 너희를 그 종 되었던 집에서 에굽 왕 바로의 손에서 속량하셨나니”.(신7:8)
“하나님께서 옛적에 이스라엘 에게 나타나 이르기를 내가 무궁한 사랑으로 너흘 사랑하는 고로 인자함으로 너를 인도하였다 하였노라(예레미아31:3)
“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라”(John 요3:16)
“우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에게 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라”(Romans 롬5:8)
“사랑은 여기 있으니 우리가 하나님을 사랑한 것이 아니요 오직 하나님이 우리를 사랑하사 우리 죄를 위하여 화목제로 그 아들을 보내셨음이니라(1 John 요일4:10)
2. 그리스도의 사랑,Christ's Love
“아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것같이 나도 너희를 사랑하였으니 나의 사랑 안에 거하라(John 요15:9)
“누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊으리요 환난이나 곤고나 핍박이나 기근이나 적신이나 위험이나 칼이랴(Romans 롬8:35)
“그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권하시는도다 우리가 생각건데 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라”(2 Corinthians 고후 5:14)
“내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 산것이 아니요 오직 안에 그리스도께서 사신 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나릉 위하여 자기 몸을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라”(Galatians 갈2:20)

셋째, 성경은 죄의 결과를 보여줍니다.
Third, The Bible shows us the cost/result of sin
성경이 우리에게 보여주는 것은 우리의 죄악입니다. 우리가 스스로 자신을 평가한다면 누가 자신을 죄인이라 인정하겠습니까? 그러나 성경을 보고 자신을 보십시오. 자신이 죄인이란 것을 확실히 깨달을 수 있습니다. 그것은 그만큼 성경이 거룩한 진리이고, 우리 인간의 죄인 됨을 말하고 있습니다.(Romans 롬7:7)
“ 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 율법이 죄냐 그럴 수 없느니라 율법으로 말미암지 않고는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니 곧 율법이 탐내지 말라 하지 아니하였더면 내가 탐심을 알지 못하였으리라”(Romans 롬7:7)
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”[a]
1.살인죄에 대하여 보여주고 있습니다(1 John 요일 3:12;Genesis 창4:8)
The cost/result of murder
“가인같이 하지 말라 저는 악한 자에게 속하여 그 아우를 죽였으니 어진 연고로 죽였느뇨 자기 행위는 악하고 그 아우의 행위는 의로움이니라”(1 John 요일3:12)
12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
2. 사형에 해당하는 죄에 대하여 보여주고 있습니다.(Romans 롬1:24-32)
The sins that result in the punishment of death
마음에 하나님 두기를 싫어하는 사람(롬1:28), 하나님의 영광을 썩어질 사람과 금수와 버러지 형상의 우상으로 바꾸는 사람(롬1:23), 자기의 정욕대로 더러움에 너어 버려두사 욕되게 하는 사람(롬1:24), 하나님의 진리를 거짓 것으로 바꾸는 사람(롬:25) 피조물을 조물주 보다 더 경배하는 사람(롬1:25), 21가지의 육체의 일을 행하는 사람(롬1:32) 입니다.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
3.하나님의 진노가 왜 임하는가 보여줍니다
We see the reason for God's wrath.(Colossians 골로새서 3:5,6)
땅에 있는 지체를 죽이라 했습니다. 이로 인하여 하나님의 진노가 임하게 됩니다.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[a]
4. 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못하는 일을 보여줍니다.(Galatians 갈5:19-21)
We see the things that prevent us from inheriting the kingdom of Heaven
육체의 일 15가지 일을 행할 때에 이러한 사람은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못합니다.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
5.우상이 무엇인가를 보여줍니다.(Romans 롬1:25)
We see what idols are
하나님보다 피조물을 더 경배하고 섬기는 것입니다. 또한 생명이 없는 것으로 형상을 만들어 놓고 그에게 소원을 비는 것이 우상입니다. (시115:4-8; 135:15-18; 하박국2:18)
25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
그러므로 우리는 항상 성경을 읽어야 합니다. 만일 우리가 매일 성경을 읽는다고 하면 그 죄 많고 허물 많은 자신을 발견하게 될 것입니다. 성도라면 어찌 죄의 자리에 그대로 있겠습니까? 또 자신이 죄인이면서 어찌 쉽게 남을 정죄하는 교만한 자리에 서 있을 수 있겠습니까? 성경은 우리로 하여금 죄와 허물을 보게 함으로써 그 죄에서 구원과 의로움에 대한 소원을 갖게 하는 것입니다.
This is why we must continue to read the bible. So that we will be able to see what is sin and then we can self-reflect and discover if we are transgressing against God. If we say we are children of God and believers, how can we just dwell in sin? And if we are dwelling in sin, how can we be so prideful and so easily judge others? The bible allows us a way to have hope to rise up out of sin and receive salvation and righteousness.
넷째, 성경은 성도의 바른 삶의 지침을 보여 줍니다.
Fourth, the bible shows us a guideline for living a Christ like life
사도 바울은 성경의 역활을 다음과 같이 이야기 했습니다. “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전케 하며 모든 선한 일을 행하기에 온전케 하려 함이니라(딤후3:16,17)”
그렇습니다. 성경의 중요한 역할 가운데 하나가 바로 구원얻은 성도들이 하나님의 자녀로 온전히 성숙해 가도록 하는 일입니다.
왜 하나님의 말씀을 영의 양식이라고 합니까? 하나님의 말씀을 매일 읽을 때 그 믿음이 자라고 신앙 인격이 성숙해지기 때문입니다. 성경의 가르침과 사건들 모두가 우리 삶에 바른 교훈과 경계를 제공하는 것입니다.
사랑하는 성도님 말씀을 가까이 합시다. 혹시 가까이 하지 않았다면 이제부터라도 하나님과 말씀을 가까이 하여 그리스도의 장성한 분량까지 자라는 성도가 되시기를 바랍니다.
Fifth, the bible shows us the power of the Gospel
다섯째 성경은 복음의 능력을 보여 줍니다.
1. The Gospel is God's power that gives us salvation
복음은 우리에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력입니다.(Romans 롬1:16,17)
바울은 로마교회에게 보낸 서신에서 고백하기를 “내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라” 첫째는 유대인에게요 또한 헬라인에게로다. 복음에는 하나님의 의가 나타나서 믿음으로 믿음에 이르게 하나니 기록된 바 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 함과 같으니라.”(롬 1:16,17)
2. 이 복음은 그리스도안에서 주십니다.(Ephesians 엡1:12,13)
The Gospel is given through Christ
“이는 그리스도안에서 전부터 바라던 우리로 그의 영광의 찬송이 되게 하려 하심이라. 그 안에서 너희도 진리의 말씀 곧 너희의 구원의 복음을 듣고 그 안에서 또한 믿어 약속의 성령으로 인치심을 받았느니라”(엡1:12,13)
3.이 복음을 받으면 마음에 평안이 있습니다(Ephesians 엡6:15)
The Gospel gives us peace
성도가 영적 투쟁을 하기 위해서 주안에서 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여 지라고 하였습니다. 이를 위해 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입으라 했습니다. 이는 악한 날에 성도가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함입니다.
이를 위해서 전신 갑주인 예수님이 선포하신 진리로 허리띠를 하고, 예수님이 하나님 말씀에 순종하심으로 흉배를 하며 평안의 복음의 예비한 것으로 걸으며 예수님을 믿음으로 주님이 주신 말씀으로 모든 환난과 핍박과 세상의 어려움을 물리칠 수 있습니다.
사랑하는 성도님
하나님은 성도님을 예수님의 복음으로 부르셔서 자녀 삼으셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 하나님을 아버지라 부를 수 있는 권세를 받게 되었습니다. 이 복음의 능력으로 세상을 다스리십시오, 세상을 이기십시오. 마음에 평강을 가지십시요, 매 순간 주님이 나를 얼마나 사랑하는가 생각하면서 감사합시다.
My loving brothers and sisters,
God the Father has called us through the gospel of Jesus and allowed us to become his children. Thus, we have been given the right to call him, Abba, Father. With the power of the Gospel, go forth to all nations and be victorious. With the Gospel, obtain peace in your hearts by knowing that Jesus Christ, your Lord, loves you tremendously now and forever.
우리에게 주는 교훈 Application
성도님들은 하루에 몇번 거울을 보십니까? 또한 생명의 거울인 성경 말씀은 몇번이나 보십니까? 우리가 사람에게 사랑받기 위해 거울을 보는 것만큼이라도 하나님께 사랑받기 위해 성경을 보고 계십니까?
우리는 외모의 겉치례를 위해서는 거울을 보는 수고를 게을리 하지 않으면서 영혼의 단장에는 소홀히 하는 오류를 종종 범하곤 합니다.
그러나 우리의 육신은 어질 것이요, 하나님 앞에 자랑거리도 되지 못합니다. 오직 정결한 영혼과 성경이 제시하는 데로 사는 삶만이 영원한 아름다움으로 인정받게 되는 것입니다.
우리는 매일 거울을 보고 몸단장을 하듯이 영혼의 아름다움을 가꾸기 위해 생명의 거울인 성경 말씀을 보는 일에 열심을 기울이어야 합니다.
How often do you look in the mirror each day? In the same light, how many times do you look in the bible each day? Do you take as much time to look good to God as you do to look good to other people?
We spend so much time in front of the mirror so that we don't show our physical flaws yet, we constantly miss the spiritual flaws as we don't look in the bible enough.
Know that your body will deteriorate and will not even be anything to brag about in front of God. The only thing that will be seen and acknowledged by God is the beauty of our Spirituality.
Let's make the effort to pay more attention to our Spiritual beauty by looking at the Word in the bible.

주님을 나의 주님으로 모시지 못하였던 것을, 진정으로 이웃을 사랑하지 못하였던 것을 모든 물속에 장사 지내고 예수님께서 부활하신 것처럼 거듭나서 새 생명을 얻게 될 것입니다.
성경은 우리의 참된 구원과 영원한 생명을 보여 주시기에 시편 기자는 하나님의 말씀을 주야로 묵상하는 사람을 가리켜 복있는 사람이라고 하였습니다.(시1:1,2)죄와 허물을 보여 줍니다.
둘째, 성경은 사랑의 힘을 보여줍니다.
Second, the bible shows us the power of love
1.하나님의 사랑입니다. God is Love
“하나님께서 다만 너희를 사랑하심을 인하여 또는 너희 열조에게하신 맹세를 지키려 하심을 인하여 자기의 권능의 손으로 너희를 인도하여 내시되 너희를 그 종 되었던 집에서 에굽 왕 바로의 손에서 속량하셨나니”.(신7:8)
“하나님께서 옛적에 이스라엘 에게 나타나 이르기를 내가 무궁한 사랑으로 너흘 사랑하는 고로 인자함으로 너를 인도하였다 하였노라(예레미아31:3)
“하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 저를 믿는 자마다 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라”(John 요3:16)
“우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에게 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라”(Romans 롬5:8)
“사랑은 여기 있으니 우리가 하나님을 사랑한 것이 아니요 오직 하나님이 우리를 사랑하사 우리 죄를 위하여 화목제로 그 아들을 보내셨음이니라(1 John 요일4:10)
2. 그리스도의 사랑,Christ's Love
“아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것같이 나도 너희를 사랑하였으니 나의 사랑 안에 거하라(John 요15:9)
“누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 끊으리요 환난이나 곤고나 핍박이나 기근이나 적신이나 위험이나 칼이랴(Romans 롬8:35)
“그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권하시는도다 우리가 생각건데 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라”(2 Corinthians 고후 5:14)
“내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 산것이 아니요 오직 안에 그리스도께서 사신 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나릉 위하여 자기 몸을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라”(Galatians 갈2:20)
“그리스도께서 너희를 사랑하신것 같이 너희도 사랑 가운데서 행하라 그는 우리를 위하여 자신을 버리사 향기로운 제물과 생축으로 하나님께 드리셨느니라”(Ephesians 엡5:2)
“그가 우리를 위하여 목슴을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고 우리도 형제들을 위하여 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅하니라(1 John 요일3:16)
셋째, 성경은 죄의 결과를 보여줍니다.
Third, The Bible shows us the cost/result of sin
성경이 우리에게 보여주는 것은 우리의 죄악입니다. 우리가 스스로 자신을 평가한다면 누가 자신을 죄인이라 인정하겠습니까? 그러나 성경을 보고 자신을 보십시오. 자신이 죄인이란 것을 확실히 깨달을 수 있습니다. 그것은 그만큼 성경이 거룩한 진리이고, 우리 인간의 죄인 됨을 말하고 있습니다.(Romans 롬7:7)
“ 그런즉 우리가 무슨 말 하리요 율법이 죄냐 그럴 수 없느니라 율법으로 말미암지 않고는 내가 죄를 알지 못하였으니 곧 율법이 탐내지 말라 하지 아니하였더면 내가 탐심을 알지 못하였으리라”(Romans 롬7:7)
7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”[a]
1.살인죄에 대하여 보여주고 있습니다(1 John 요일 3:12;Genesis 창4:8)
The cost/result of murder
“가인같이 하지 말라 저는 악한 자에게 속하여 그 아우를 죽였으니 어진 연고로 죽였느뇨 자기 행위는 악하고 그 아우의 행위는 의로움이니라”(1 John 요일3:12)
12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
2. 사형에 해당하는 죄에 대하여 보여주고 있습니다.(Romans 롬1:24-32)
The sins that result in the punishment of death
마음에 하나님 두기를 싫어하는 사람(롬1:28), 하나님의 영광을 썩어질 사람과 금수와 버러지 형상의 우상으로 바꾸는 사람(롬1:23), 자기의 정욕대로 더러움에 너어 버려두사 욕되게 하는 사람(롬1:24), 하나님의 진리를 거짓 것으로 바꾸는 사람(롬:25) 피조물을 조물주 보다 더 경배하는 사람(롬1:25), 21가지의 육체의 일을 행하는 사람(롬1:32) 입니다.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
3.하나님의 진노가 왜 임하는가 보여줍니다
We see the reason for God's wrath.(Colossians 골로새서 3:5,6)
땅에 있는 지체를 죽이라 했습니다. 이로 인하여 하나님의 진노가 임하게 됩니다.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[a]
4. 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못하는 일을 보여줍니다.(Galatians 갈5:19-21)
We see the things that prevent us from inheriting the kingdom of Heaven
육체의 일 15가지 일을 행할 때에 이러한 사람은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못합니다.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
5.우상이 무엇인가를 보여줍니다.(Romans 롬1:25)
We see what idols are
하나님보다 피조물을 더 경배하고 섬기는 것입니다. 또한 생명이 없는 것으로 형상을 만들어 놓고 그에게 소원을 비는 것이 우상입니다. (시115:4-8; 135:15-18; 하박국2:18)
25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
그러므로 우리는 항상 성경을 읽어야 합니다. 만일 우리가 매일 성경을 읽는다고 하면 그 죄 많고 허물 많은 자신을 발견하게 될 것입니다. 성도라면 어찌 죄의 자리에 그대로 있겠습니까? 또 자신이 죄인이면서 어찌 쉽게 남을 정죄하는 교만한 자리에 서 있을 수 있겠습니까? 성경은 우리로 하여금 죄와 허물을 보게 함으로써 그 죄에서 구원과 의로움에 대한 소원을 갖게 하는 것입니다.
This is why we must continue to read the bible. So that we will be able to see what is sin and then we can self-reflect and discover if we are transgressing against God. If we say we are children of God and believers, how can we just dwell in sin? And if we are dwelling in sin, how can we be so prideful and so easily judge others? The bible allows us a way to have hope to rise up out of sin and receive salvation and righteousness.
넷째, 성경은 성도의 바른 삶의 지침을 보여 줍니다.
Fourth, the bible shows us a guideline for living a Christ like life
사도 바울은 성경의 역활을 다음과 같이 이야기 했습니다. “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전케 하며 모든 선한 일을 행하기에 온전케 하려 함이니라(딤후3:16,17)”
그렇습니다. 성경의 중요한 역할 가운데 하나가 바로 구원얻은 성도들이 하나님의 자녀로 온전히 성숙해 가도록 하는 일입니다.
왜 하나님의 말씀을 영의 양식이라고 합니까? 하나님의 말씀을 매일 읽을 때 그 믿음이 자라고 신앙 인격이 성숙해지기 때문입니다. 성경의 가르침과 사건들 모두가 우리 삶에 바른 교훈과 경계를 제공하는 것입니다.
사랑하는 성도님 말씀을 가까이 합시다. 혹시 가까이 하지 않았다면 이제부터라도 하나님과 말씀을 가까이 하여 그리스도의 장성한 분량까지 자라는 성도가 되시기를 바랍니다.
Fifth, the bible shows us the power of the Gospel
다섯째 성경은 복음의 능력을 보여 줍니다.
1. The Gospel is God's power that gives us salvation
복음은 우리에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력입니다.(Romans 롬1:16,17)
바울은 로마교회에게 보낸 서신에서 고백하기를 “내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라” 첫째는 유대인에게요 또한 헬라인에게로다. 복음에는 하나님의 의가 나타나서 믿음으로 믿음에 이르게 하나니 기록된 바 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 함과 같으니라.”(롬 1:16,17)
2. 이 복음은 그리스도안에서 주십니다.(Ephesians 엡1:12,13)
The Gospel is given through Christ
“이는 그리스도안에서 전부터 바라던 우리로 그의 영광의 찬송이 되게 하려 하심이라. 그 안에서 너희도 진리의 말씀 곧 너희의 구원의 복음을 듣고 그 안에서 또한 믿어 약속의 성령으로 인치심을 받았느니라”(엡1:12,13)
3.이 복음을 받으면 마음에 평안이 있습니다(Ephesians 엡6:15)
The Gospel gives us peace
성도가 영적 투쟁을 하기 위해서 주안에서 그 힘의 능력으로 강건하여 지라고 하였습니다. 이를 위해 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입으라 했습니다. 이는 악한 날에 성도가 능히 대적하고 모든 일을 행한 후에 서기 위함입니다.
이를 위해서 전신 갑주인 예수님이 선포하신 진리로 허리띠를 하고, 예수님이 하나님 말씀에 순종하심으로 흉배를 하며 평안의 복음의 예비한 것으로 걸으며 예수님을 믿음으로 주님이 주신 말씀으로 모든 환난과 핍박과 세상의 어려움을 물리칠 수 있습니다.
사랑하는 성도님
하나님은 성도님을 예수님의 복음으로 부르셔서 자녀 삼으셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 하나님을 아버지라 부를 수 있는 권세를 받게 되었습니다. 이 복음의 능력으로 세상을 다스리십시오, 세상을 이기십시오. 마음에 평강을 가지십시요, 매 순간 주님이 나를 얼마나 사랑하는가 생각하면서 감사합시다.
My loving brothers and sisters,
God the Father has called us through the gospel of Jesus and allowed us to become his children. Thus, we have been given the right to call him, Abba, Father. With the power of the Gospel, go forth to all nations and be victorious. With the Gospel, obtain peace in your hearts by knowing that Jesus Christ, your Lord, loves you tremendously now and forever.
우리에게 주는 교훈 Application
성도님들은 하루에 몇번 거울을 보십니까? 또한 생명의 거울인 성경 말씀은 몇번이나 보십니까? 우리가 사람에게 사랑받기 위해 거울을 보는 것만큼이라도 하나님께 사랑받기 위해 성경을 보고 계십니까?
우리는 외모의 겉치례를 위해서는 거울을 보는 수고를 게을리 하지 않으면서 영혼의 단장에는 소홀히 하는 오류를 종종 범하곤 합니다.
그러나 우리의 육신은 어질 것이요, 하나님 앞에 자랑거리도 되지 못합니다. 오직 정결한 영혼과 성경이 제시하는 데로 사는 삶만이 영원한 아름다움으로 인정받게 되는 것입니다.
우리는 매일 거울을 보고 몸단장을 하듯이 영혼의 아름다움을 가꾸기 위해 생명의 거울인 성경 말씀을 보는 일에 열심을 기울이어야 합니다.
How often do you look in the mirror each day? In the same light, how many times do you look in the bible each day? Do you take as much time to look good to God as you do to look good to other people?
We spend so much time in front of the mirror so that we don't show our physical flaws yet, we constantly miss the spiritual flaws as we don't look in the bible enough.
Know that your body will deteriorate and will not even be anything to brag about in front of God. The only thing that will be seen and acknowledged by God is the beauty of our Spirituality.
Let's make the effort to pay more attention to our Spiritual beauty by looking at the Word in the bible.
