Life walking with God
“It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Faith is the evidence of things not seen and confidence in what we hope for…
•faith is from hearing the word
•starts from the word of God
•“Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about
these people. He said, “Listen! The Lord is coming with countless
thousands of his holy ones to execute judgment on the people of the world.
He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and
for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.””

God called Enoch showing the state of the world and the inevitable judgement arising from its corruption after the coming of Methuselah who will walk with God
•Enoch put his life into order to prioritize his walk with God
•it was at the end of Methuselah's life that the great flood of judgement came
(Noah is grandchild of Methuselah) as promised
•“When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second
month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell
in mighty torrents from the sky.” Genesis 7:11 NLT
•Enoch believed in God's prophecy despite there being no apparent sign of
judgement he was referring to…
We too were given the message from God that Jesus will come back soon for judgement
•“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together
with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord
forever. So encourage each other with these words.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 NLT
•if we believe and live according to God's will we too can be lifted up by
God like Enoch in the day of judgement
•can you say you are pleasing God in your spiritual walk right now?

What is a life of faith? It is a life walking with God
•walking with God means agreeing to and living according to His will
•“Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?”

it requires a moral compass
•God is holy so we are holy
•light and darkness cannot reside together
•abandon your life of sin
•“For I, the LORD, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt,
that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am
holy.” Leviticus 11:45 NLT
it requires a relationship with God
•through prayer… Converse with Him
•listen to God and His guidance
•go with faith
Enoch had evidence of his faith by showing that he pleased God ~ and by faith, God lifted him to Heaven without dying. Let's be obedient to God. Let's trust God. Let's live to please God.
